Wow - they have real people working there. I always imagined faceless robo-droids, mechanically barking out: I cannot reproduce the problem, please ring PSS...

I don't know if their ad-supported model would work in IM, though.
Information, dear boy, information. If they know what everyone it talking about, saying what they wished they had, etc, they can target ads more effectively at the rest of us.
Sort of reminds me of that saying (which I can't properly remember now): Beware of he who would control access to information, for in his heart, he wants to be your master.
"Nothing for you to see here. Please move along."
Heh - same as always:)
I'd love to see Google get in with Jabber. Joogle? I use Jabber. But everyone I try to get on there simply says: But all my friends are on MSN. Some people have never ever heard of Yahoo, AIM, or the old classic, ICQ. Go Google, I say. Oh, and don't be evil. Although I'll be using SSL and GPG over Jabber, as usual.
It reminded me of a time when I saw CNN. It was talking about something in Europe, and it had "England" written all over the British Isles, and Ireland. The only European countries with names shown were France, Germany, and Spain. I had to laugh.
It looks like they are ( have been? ) quite big fans of MySQL in the past.
Netcraft shows that a couple of years ago ( 4th Aug 2002 ) that their webserver was running with Mod Auth MySQL.

Give us the CIDR blocks of the whole ISP that the spammer is using. Block all packets from those ISPs. Once ISPs learn that they get blocked for tolerating spam, they will try harder to prevent them.

Damn. We're getting smaller. When did that happen?
As well as being experts in the Wireless field, they also run a very good InfoSec company. www.arhont.com. Highly recommended if you want the view that the black hats would have of your networks.

From your sig: --I have gmail invites to give away!
:)
Don't you know enough people without advertising your invites to anonymous web people?
tetracyanoquinodimethane: Now that sound nice and healthy...

That's it!
All those critical routers, firewalls, DNS servers, and web servers that are running XP - the internet will go to pot!

I can't remember life before Google, but I bet we thought "Google" sounded pretty stupid back then.

I just checked some domain names, and none of them are taken by Google. gabble, gtalk, gim, babble,

It's funny, but these are the abuses that can occur with large, hidden, unseen databases.
Wouldn't it be really funny if they added a note to your account: Known for smuggling drugs by swallowing.
Those 3 day delays while they wait to see what came out would make your summer holidays really interesting.
Line breaks?
"Innovation" strikes again.
England == UK to a lot of the world - it's sort of funny - being an Englishman. I'm sure the territories of Wales, Scotland and NI are used to it. :)
Something like this? :)

Wonder what this laptop, resting on my lap, cooking my legs with the battery, and my gonads with Wi-Fi is doing to me?
Strange combination. Better off selling them two boxes. :)
How do you find these customers out of interest?
I think you'll find there's more than that out there
