Murder is murder, but if mentally ill people received actual help, instead indifference, from society and the heath care system, some murders and/or suicides might be avoided.
Wouldn't the money be better spent treating people prior to problems cropping instead of keeping them locked up afterwards?
A criminal justice system is not designed to help sick people.
The summary linked to the wrong article with regards to the topical caffeine treatment. It should probalby have been this study (found on the site referred to): http://www.pnlab.org/news/documents/KooCaffeine.pdf
Excerpt: Caffeine applied topically after UV treatment resulted in a significant decrease
in UV-induced skin roughness/transverse rhytides as assessed by treatment-blinded
examiners.
As a developer I occasionally find myself questioning my tools. A compiler/linker may contain errors, the IDE may do funny things etc. Admittedly most of the time it's because I've missed something somewhere, but there have been occasions where the tools have been at fault. The software is ultimately written by humans and will as such necessarily contain errors, and should therefore not be implicitly trusted.
Concerning the Pentium bug: there are plenty of bugs in processors. Ask NASA. They refuse to use anything but old, thoroughly tested hardware that won't suddenly show unexpected behavior, ruining an expensive mission. The shuttles stopped using magnetic core memory in 1990. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_Shuttle
Whether or not humans are the cause of global warming, we can do something to slow or halt global warming.
It does not matter whether humans are the cause or not, the consequences will be the same; changed weather patterns, mass extinctions and lots of people suffering due to droughts/flooding and food/water shortages.
We should do what we can in order to minimize the fluctuations, for our own good, regardless of the cause.
If you are looking for information on the.NET framework and namespaces, not syntax and language features, then consider getting one of the MCAD books.
They cover a lot of subjects concerning the.NET framework, assemblies, deploying, databinding, controls, web services and many other things.
Having worked with.NET for a bit over a year now, I have learned a lot of things about the.NET framework by reading the "Developing and Implementing Windows-based Applications with Visual C#.Net and Visual Studio.NET", that I have not touched upon otherwise while working with.NET. The book is a bit dated compared to the newer.NET frameworks, but still covers a lot of ground that can be very useful.
Considering that the US:
1) Gives weapons to it's own enemies (amongst others)
2) Have a crappy human rights record (e.g. Guantanamo and US prisons)
3) Uses mass pollution to take shortcuts and undercut prices (The US is one of the biggest polluters pr. person in the world)
4) Is not a democracy (Was your last president democratically elected by the majority?)
you sure do throw stones while living in a glass house.
Mod me as you see fit.

I have seen this issue as well (XP-sp2, Dell laptop). I generally try to remember to shut FF down before closing the screen.
Annoying, but still preferable to using IE, in my opinion.
This may be illegal, and there may be plenty of people smart enough to sue the hell out of them; but are there people that satisfy the above criteria that have the time and money to do so?
clusters.
What's not to like?
Lack of openness?
Open hardware is available out there.
I recently bought one, and so far I find the hardware quire acceptable.
This is great!
I applaud Atheros for taking this step, and I will be buying Atheros hardware in the future due to this move.
May other companies learn from this initiative.
