Why is it even practical to replace books? I like them like they are. You know, some things in this world are sacred and perfect. Books are on of them. I can see the uses for students or tech folks and the like who have to carry multiple books, but I like my library the way it is......
it seems we have the same atitude towards space we had towards our waterways and oceans just a few years ago, i.e. it's a great big dump. If you can't see it, who cares? Wait until the shuttle cacthes a hunk of debris through the windshield, or when space tourism catches on (it will! it will!) and the area directly around Earth looks like Coney Island after a busy weekend. Charming.
I really don't have time to play my PS2. I sit down at it and boom, 4 hours are gone. I can't imagine the time this contraption eats. I guess the point is to play games 16 hours a day.
My thnkpad 560x is getting long in the tooth, (233mhz, 64 ram) but it's still by far the best computer purchase I've ever made. It's very thin and light, durable. I would buy the comparable model today if I needed a new notebook...only drawback for me has been a lack of internal cd rom, but it just makes for a lighter machine. My boss' Toshiba 8100 is a workhorse as well, but a little too clunky, esp. since I'm used to my 560x. Hope this helps you.....
I know it'll work. I catch my Granfather carrying on conversations with mechanical devices constantly....
"F*cking toaster, burning my toast...."
"You f*cking car, you better start!"
(This one directed to the T.V.) "You sunovabitch!"
To have device that actually answered back would be great....finally satisfaction!
Grandpa: F*ck you!
Robot: Okay.
Grandpa: I'm now satisfied. Bring me an iced tea.
I agree, just get a desktop case, throw a decent CPU in, put an ATI all in one card in, get a really nice sound card and a fat hdd and roll the whole damn thing yourself. You'd only lack the front display and remote, but a little thinking could fill those holes pretty easily. A little custom paint job and throw in some pretty LEDs and you will be able to say "I built that really cool thing for cheapness" and all will bow.
...because you have a valid, sensible point. Politicians simply stare straight ahead and drool when confronted with such a thing.
I wish you the best of luck, I wish I had some better advice, maybe talk to some lawyers?
Well, what if you could program the syntax into the pen? You could write code on smart paper on the train or anywhere, and have the pen bebug as you write? That would be handy.
I don't know, I really enjoyed Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within *ducks rotten tomato* I know most people thought it sucked, but it was about what I expected, great looking, thin Square plot.....
And it seems comic book to movie conversions are pretty decent, why can't video games make the leap? I think Dues Ex would be a great, fun movie.
I think one problem is films based on video games change the story abd characters too much to try to appeal to a wider audience, and lose the fans who really give a damn.
I just went to Dr. Mann's website. I read through most of the stuff, but it doesn't really delve into the true nature of his equipment. Is this guy for real? What's up with him? Why was he bleeding, where were those electrodes implanted? Am I to understand he wears his equip. 24 hours a day? How is he physically dependent on it? He looks to be a geek with too much of a budget and the standard Trek fetish gone horribly wrong, IMHO.

...geeks hate "flash" on websites (style over substance) but love it in their GUIs? (KDE3, OSX) Isn't it slowing things down either way?
Yeah, I'd like to read it before I post, but I can't! Obviously this is the kind of stuff people like......
Win 95 codename was "Chicago", that's neither threatening or a mountain. Where'd that come from?

sadly, this is pathetic. go away.
Just use distilled water, no minerals. Or alcohol.
Yes, put it in a frost free freezer. No Humidity there, right?

I don't know what your definition of "geek" is, but I'd say PS2's Linux Kit out geeks them both by lightyears. I own a Dreamcast, btw. :-)

I saw them together. They were in the showers at the local Y whipping each other with wet towels and making "monkey butts" at each other.

This is the same country that banned GTA 3, so they aren't all that.

...before I can jam my head into the mouthpeice and have it pop out of the other persons earpeice? Now THAT would be useful.
