I wasn't really aiming at funny, although I see Bruce's sarcasm.
The internet is worth any cost, for the communications between people it provides. Sure, the S/N ratio often sucks. But it's the next most important advance over the printing press.
Without communication we have no civilization. The internet is by far the most efficient form of communication we have yet invented. It's importance to society cannot be overestimated.
The definition of symbiosis is in flux, and the term has been applied to a wide range of biological interactions. The symbiotic relationship may be categorized as being mutualistic, parasitic, or commensal in nature.
Jury is still out on whether it's a bad sprain or a fracture. The xrays don't show any fractures, but it isn't healing like it should be. Was at the doc this morning and he suspects I may have spiral fractured the joint. Apparently that doesn't always show up on xrays.
I've lost about five hundred bucks of income this week - self-employed right now, laid off a couple months ago - because of my clutziness;( Almost five feet of snow this last week and I can't drive the bobcat because I can't operate the right pedal no matter how tightly I wrap the ankle.
Pain I can deal with (yeast byproducts, lol) but not being mobile for fear of screwing it up worse... cabin fever is setting in and so I'm posting on slashdot to keep from going completely crazy;)
* Appoint people who know how to do all of the above, or who will listen to people who would give them good advice.

Bailout for what? Nevermind that "the FOSS" is not a corporation...
WTF are you talking about? Do you even know?
SB
That's the most insightful post I've seen today.
SB
If you hate it so much, boycott slashdot.
SB
Or several tens of millions of xboxes ;)
SB
PETA will also be there, asking what they did with the ponies.
SB
Yikes. Nevermind ;)
I was reading at +1 and didn't see the post that had the article link you did.
I'll get back to you after I wipe the egg off my face and cook it up for supper.
SB
Sheese. RTFA.
This is an april fools joke. You just got trolled ;)
Damned near every sentence in the article at least hints at it.
Oh sorry. April Fools Joke. Go on with your uninformed idiocy.

Is the interwebs showing up our stupidity?
Shit. Wait, that was serious...

Introduce more yeast into the human biome and in a few generations nobody will know the difference.
Hell, they might even consider the craziness we're going thru now as normal. Who knows? ;)
SB
Yeah, but we can kill the child molesters and nobody cares ;)
(nice Firefly ref)
SB
Children.
I'm going to hell for that one...
Sounds like a nice warm place.
SB
Electrons may be expensive.
But lack of communication is worse.
SB
I'll throw some organic material on that fire ;)
Baker's ovens. Gas fired, for the most part.
(anyone who has worked in a bakery knows that gas fired ovens are lots better at baking bread evenly than electric ones are)
SB
Indeed. Might as well speculate that humans pissing their pants on the beaches contributes to ocean acidification ;)
SB
Bread expands as the yeast works.
Raisins don't.

It's amazing that we haven't had any stories about economic recovery today.
SB
The only thing I've not seen on here today is a good joke about grits.
Come on! Such a huge talent pool, and not one good gritty joke?
Slashdot has indeed gone downhill...
SB
*grin*
Thanks.
