Libraries are places to house, organize, and lend out books.
So yes, they should go obsolete as books becomes obsolete. There may be a way for them to stay relevant, perhaps all those Librarians with Masters Degrees can think of something.
I tried to stress, that if you are working for a union, and vote Conservative, that not only are you voting contrary to your best interests, that also pretty much makes you an idiot.
Oh really. Well then, please point out the party that happens to align up with ALL of my interests.
What's that? There isn't any? So then no matter who I vote for, I'll be voting against my interests in some way?
I've been playing a ton of League of Legends, and I love their F2P model.
If you simply can't afford to spend any money, and have a ton of jobless free time, you'll eventually own every character in the game.
Even then, they rotate heroes around to the "Free" section for people to try out for a week at a time.
I have a job, so I spent the money and bought a hero package. (More money than free time)
There are two aspects of the game that are interesting. 1. The hero skins require you to spend money if you want them. They give you no in-game advantage. 2. The rune "bonuses", can only be purchased using IP. Currency you get from playing.
I had bought DC Universe, and it's a cutting edge MMORPG... for 1996. Wouldn't play it for free.
I ate normally, it's not hard to budget for food. Ramen was on the menu, but mostly because it was easy and fast to make. Not because of cost.
I ran up the CC on things I didn't need, mostly trying to impress girls, eating out, etc. If I didn't have the CC I wouldn't have spent the money.
I'm not everyone. Please explain what the "American Dream" is. I'd appreciate it if you used small words.
You're not defining it because once you do, we can take the next step and prove/disprove it. I suppose if you'd rather cling to your misery, I won't stop you.
I'm astonished your comment has been voted up to 5. I went to college from 97-2000.
First off, yes you can live on Min wage. I've done it.
Second, no one is forcing students to take out huge loans for college. I made it through college without borrowing anything. (Stupidly running up credit card bills is another matter however.)
Third you need to define the "American Dream" before you can claim how it isn't available for millions of Americans.
Fourth, if you're going to claim that trickle down economics is class warfare, you should back it up with something. Anything.
And that's just my response to your first sad, sad paragraph.
Because they only way to fight global warming is to live in absolutes and become a hermit living with in kumbaya with the bunnies, the flowers and the dolphins.
I'll believe global warming is a problem, when the proponents ACT like it's a problem.
List the income, liabilities, costs, and monthly profits.
If you make 1000$ in profit a month, that's a 12k a year business.
Now, it may be that someone can swoop in and supercharge that business to incredible revenues and profits. But most likely they'll be making 12k a year after they buy it from you. This will help you figure out how much to sell it for. After that though, the terms can be anything.
As to WHO to sell it to. I'd sell it to a competitor, unless your customers hate them. After that, I'd sell it to a friend who is online savvy and needs the money.
The problem is, I'm not sure I would buy that business. Imagine you sell it to me for 48k. That would mean I would be working for you, for free, for the next 4 years. Unless I could take that business and increase the profits I would be better off working with my own business. (I also run a small online business, selling downloadable files)
I sympathize, I live in Colorado and we have acres and acres of beetle killed trees. But banning lasers to the general public will not stop a single asshole from setting half the state on fire.
Fine.
I'm Pro-Union (Democrat) and Anti-Illegal Immigration (Which takes away union jobs by undercutting prices. Republican.)
Which party should I vote for? Which one of these parties don't have a predominant agenda to actively fuck me over?
You can say "fuck", I give you a reprieve from your self-sensorship.
Well then do it. Create a drug producing plant and get it to cross pollinate purely by chance.
Put up or shut up.

Who is the idiot here?
Human understanding breaks down? Seriously? Using that logic no wars would happen if we just talked to each other more.
"Conflict of Interest".
Microsoft...you would have gotten a better ROI building a moon base.
(Now waits for Apple to build a Moon Base)

Ok, say we legalize all drugs.
What's to stop an OPEC-like organization from being created to ensure the price of drugs stay high?
A violent one that kills off drug producers that aren't within the system?
Exactly, just like telepathy.

Tulips don't roost.
Also, Bitcoins don't have tulips.
Sure. Define "Fair" first and I'll pay my fair share.
Also, how do you know you couldn't buy civilization for 5k in taxes?
My business sells electronic file downloads.
We get zero problems from people using Gmail. Half of our customer support problems come from Yahoo, the other half from Hotmail.
Valuation is just an estimation.

Westminster, N of Denver.
Would have loved to live more in the mountains, but IT jobs are Urban.
It's good to hear your trees are doing fine. Went up to Lake Granby a few weeks ago, and some of the mountainsides are just...dead trees.
As opposed to simply using matches?

Emergency signal when stranded.
Fire it up into the clouds, everyone will see you and it'll be like a arrow to your location.
Maybe you need a better imagination.
No difference than any other exceedingly dangerous "Toy" that the average person owns.
Stop trying to be everyone's Mommy.
If it's a service you can't run without breaking the financial back of the government, then it's no longer feasible.
It *could* be run in the black. Once you add in pensions and health care though, it's impossible.
The thing is: Most people don't want to lug around a separate device that can't be used for *anything* other than reading text,
Why not? They already do that, they're called "Books".
We already have a robot that can live in the weeds, homeless.
Bah. It's *media*. Who cares?
I got a notice from my ISP about my downloading "Battlestar Galactica" torrents. You know what I did? I stopped watching them.
Period.
It's just entertainment. I can easily live without if it comes to it.
We've already sequenced the human genome.
Oh.
OOoooooooooh. I see what you did there.
To make it easier to kill people in war, you degrade or dehumanize your opponent first.
