    Yes, for every high risk or certainty of payout customer my insurance provider takes on that increases my rates and every other customer. Insurance isn't a charity, it's a business, see the government if you want a handout.

    The reason you are charged higher rates is that men typically cause more (and more costly on payout) accidents, the statistics back it up. An insurance company that refuses coverage or increases rates based on known medical probabilities (and especially certainties) is making sound decisions and I fully support it. I smoke, therefore I pay higher rates for life insurance, why shouldn't someone who had a genetic predisposition for lung cancer be penalized just as much as me?

    Agreed, the 5 rural phone companies I worked for up until mid-'05 have been doing triple play FTTN Phone, DSL, and Video since 2000. Our GTE, Bellsouth, Verizon, Alltel, and Windstream competitors constantly drug their feet rolling out dsl, much less the TV leg of the triple.

    You never saw the Man Show, they had a fake ad that in tone sounded like a life insurance spot, but the premise was, as a single guy you're going to leave shit behind your family doesn't need to see.     Pointless to negotiate when the parties holding the trump card(s) have the resolve to hold out for an unconditional surrender. The backup plan if the A-bomb wasn't going to be ready was to launch a chemical attack on the upcoming rice harvest, blockade any food coming from Korea and Mainland China, and destroy the rail infrastructure. Basically the US was going to starve every man, woman, and child on the home islands, you seriously think that is a better solution than 200000 casualties in two blinding flashes.

    That's a possibility. When you look at the upcoming AMD stuff (Quad core, Newisys Horus chipset) you could potentially build a 128 core opteron, the current biggest boy on the sparc side is the 144 core USIV+ 25000. You give me DSD's and a supermassive opteron and we can start talking about sun killing sparc.

    Only in the mid to high end boxes. the 6800 and up (except the 10k and 12k) can mix and match USIII and USIV uniboards but we're talking about under 12 RU chasis.

    Whhops, sorry about that, I had just been looking at the ass-end of a 490 and noted the PS's didn't have a release on the rear, but now looking through sunsolve I see the the ac inputs are fixed, but the guts of the PS's are HS. My bad

    Except the smallest USIV box they make is the 490, 4RU and non-hs power supplies. Get me a 240 replacement with a USIV and I'll be all over it. Or better yet figure out how to add HS dual power and the USIV to the 210.

    Yeah, at least at University of Kentucky, it is more than possible to pull off B.S. in Biology, B.S. Chemistry, a minor in Physics, minor in Math, and a B.A. in education in less than 160 hours

    B.S. in Biology from my state's flagship institution, just as qualified to substitue as a kid with 60+ hours of college credit in any subjects in my state's farked up educational system. If I actually want a full-time job teaching I have to go back, take enough garbage credits for a BA in education (useful 12 hour semester as a student teacher not included). That's why I'm a sysadmin and not teaching.

    How about uncle sam following the laws already on the books. i.e. The Americans with Disablities Act, Congress is not required to follow, same with overtime, minimum wage, Social Security (Government pension is great compared to either military pension or a big union pension, 401(k)'s can match or beat them if you get really lucky).
