  1. So what is this going to do? on PIRATE Act Introduced in Congress · · Score: 5, Insightful

Honestly, the prisons are full enough as it is with petty criminals, if they even attempt to enforce these they are going to fill them up even faster. And, who wants to put in jail? If this gets passed and starts getting actively enforced, hopefully someone is going to stand up against this. I hope you've all donated to EFF lately...

  2. Re:Official Rules on Recycle some of your 100 million Pepsi Songs · · Score: 1

Well, if you've got 50 people each with an email address, all friends or whatever, then all they have to do is go through them by proxy. Pretty simple actually.

  3. Re:Will it work on legacy machines? on Xgrid Clustering Software and Demo · · Score: 4, Informative

Nope, it won't work on those. XGrid is based off of Apple's Rendezvous, which is OS X ( well, at least until someone ports it, seeing as it is open source. So, unless you plan to port it yourself, and to port XGrid as well ( if it is ever open sourced ), then you're out of luck. If this was a serious post that is. If it was a troll, then I bit, but you don't care ;)

  5. Re:clue me in.... on SCO Invokes DMCA, Names Headers, Novell Steps In · · Score: 2, Insightful

So if you say "arg list too long", instead of say, "too many arguments" in all comments, it is very likely that the actual .h was stolen... Not that I want to support SCO... The only problem being that there are only so many ways in which to express something like that, so it's still not a complete proof. I do agree that is probably where the argument hinges, though.

  6. Deus Ex Pancake on Narnia to be Created in New Zealand · · Score: 1

God from pancake? WTF? However, I do agree that he cheats with the ending, although perhaps it works like that. The Dark Is Rising would be an excellent series that could be done too, though. Man, all these great series that could be done, but then you have the problem of the masses only seeing them as the movies and never reading the books.

  7. And again... on SCO Group Web Site Attacked Again · · Score: 2, Redundant

... do we have to say that this is exactly the kind of thing that we DON'T need? DDoSing them because you are unhappy with the way that they are doing things does nothing but to put a bad name on Linux, its users, and the whole issue in general. All you are doing is sinking to their level, rather than being mature and letting the battle be fought the way it should be, in court ( or, if worse come to worse, with torches and pitchforks in front of SCOs headquarters ;) ).

  8. Lego and employment on New York City, LEGO Style · · Score: 5, Interesting

Although something like this may seem stupid or pointless at first, if I was an employer, the fact that someone had actually completed something like this would be a big point towards me hiring them. Something like this not only takes some serious drive and commitment to actually bring to completion, but especially with some of the larger models, there had to be some serious planning going into them, both excellent thigns to look for... and on a complete other note, I'm not an employer, lego rocks, and these are some serious awesome lego creations... wish that I had enough commitment to make something even a tenth as big as some of those :D

  9. Re:Hasn't this been done already? on Nationwide Fiber Optic Science Network · · Score: 2, Interesting

And hopefully as with the original network, eventually it will branch out and become part of our daily lives. Perhaps this is the beginning of fiber actually being a viable option for net access for citizens, seeing as the costs otherwise have so far been prohibative to deploying a network.

  10. Well... on California Makes Recording in Cinema a Crime · · Score: 5, Funny

  11. Worms 3d! on 2003 Videogame Holiday Gift Guide · · Score: 2, Informative

All I have to ask is, where is Worms 3D on this list? True, so far it has only been released in Europe and Australia, but it has for more playability value, and overall "fun" factor than some of the other games on this list.

  12. Get your math terms right on Expensive Geek Toys Roundup · · Score: 1

FYI, it's GoogOL not googLE, and it does not equal a googolplex, either. A googolplex is 10 to the power of googol, or a 1 followed by 10 to the 100 zeroes.

  13. Convenience for us, horror for those with control on Diebold Audit Released, BlackBoxVoting.Org Shut Down · · Score: 1

Sure we could do that, but do you think that the elected party would really want the people to rule as they wished? It may seem like a dream to us, but those who control the money would view it as a nightmare. No longer would they have so much control, because now rather than bribing the currently elected party ( let's say 'funding' for political correctness, shall we? ;) ) their is nothing they can do to prevent their bullsh*t bills from being thrown out, and nothing to help keep them running the country by twisting laws as they see fit.

  14. Those still aren't going to show up... on Google Removes Kazaa Links, Keeps Sponsored Links · · Score: 1

  15. Not all P2P apps are like this, though. on RIAA Parses 'P2P' As 'Peer 2 Porn' · · Score: 1

Take Shareaza for example. It does checksumming of all files ( I'm not sure off the top of my head what type ) so unless a LOT of people decide to spam a file, the chances that you will get the wrong file ( as long as you choose one with many sources ) are very minimal.

  17. Re:Huh?? on Lindows Webstation · · Score: 4, Interesting

Well, it's called the webstation, obviously designed for internet surfing only. If you are only going to be surfing the web, you don't really need to have any sort of hard drive, although I am sure that one would be useful for such things as cookies ( debate me on that point if you wish ). Games, well, you can certainly play small games such as tetris fine that would just play right off the cd, or off of a virtual drive in RAM. What happens when you reboot? Everything is wiped, obviously.

  18. Who not to buy from? on RIAA Now Targets Pirates' Parents · · Score: 1

Well, about the closest way that you can get to doing that, legally ( technically, if you download the mp3s, and then send the cheque, you still have unauthorized songs on your computer until the money is sent ), is to use iTunes Music Store. The one problem being with that - you need a Mac ( at least for now ).
