Well, one game that did get part of thos physics relatively well was Redfaction. I still haven't played it all the way through, but the ability to tunnel through slod rock walls with your rocket launcher did get useful, as was the ability to destroy bridges underneath tanks and such. However, we do have a long way to ge before we get to anything even near resembling the modern world, much greater system specs being on eof the first necessities.
There are better things, for sure, but spam is not a small problem. It's fine that you can block out most of it and make it a minor annoyance, but what if everyone would do that? The end result would that there would that you would get more spam, because the spammers would be forced to find a way around your filtering system, which undoubtedly they eventually would do.
Also, spam is overall a drain on resources: a drain on bandwidth, a drain on processing power passing them on from server to server, and a drain on disk space storing them, so spam is a problem, and it should be stopped, even if right now it is only a "minor annoyance".
It isn't that at all, though... all they are asking for are some very simple things, things that a newbie would probably do anyway. They are just asking that you don't put pointless comments, that you don't feel that the bug HAS to be fixed, and that you don't abuse or troll in the bug post.
Most newbies would probably follow that pretty good on their own already... this is probably more aimed at those who have been around for a little bit, and have posted aimless comments, or have lost sight of the fact that the developers don't have to fix their bug immediately.
are belong to us!;)
Seriously though... I think that what we buy should belong to us. It's ours, and we should do whatever we want to do with it as long as it doesn't infringe on other's rights. ( Such as making a copy for a friend... that is infringing on the artist's rights because now we are technically stealing ). I doubt it's going to happen without the downfall or a radical change in the **AA, though.
But it is one the most secure ones. Any network can be hacked, and all it takes is time, as long as you have access to the network. Now that there is no access to a wireless LAN, they have solved their problem, unless they are worried about people who already have access to computers on the network.
I definitely wish him the best of luck. Having a free email/calender/planner/whatever else piece of software that is free, better than Outlook, and available for Mac, Linux and Windows is certainly a hefty goal, but if he can pull it off it will certainly be an excellent feat.
Well... not exactly, but if your friend makes a copy of a cd for you ( even with your own computer ) then it is legal. I.E. Person A owns commercial CD. He copies it, then gives the copy to person B OR gives the original to person B and keeps the copy. Thats all legal. And if you want to know more of that, then check out this site
Screw that... we don't even have to drop them a line. Everyone is just going to see that link and click on it, and they will find out soon enoudh what we think!;)
This could be the start of something good, or it could be the start of a Big Brother-esque rule. It all depends on where the government takes it. If they only allow people to update their informationk, and do not track it beyond where they have to as required by law, then I would say it is a good thing. However, if they track it, and use the information to spy/whatever you want to call it on their citizens, then it could be considered as going the way of the Big Brother.
Online voting? Never going to happen anytime soon until they can create a good system which is almost impossible to hack. Not, extremely difficulty to hack, but almost difficult, and any bugs which are found are patched immediately, not when they get around to it.
So that's how we can put the thread through the needle even faster? Wow... back in MY day, we had to use our fingers to do that, in candle light, when you couldnt even see the friggin' hole!:P
It's my understanding that the traditional Chinese dragon is not associated with fire but rather with water. It's only in the west that dragons breathe fire.
Even better... then we won't even have to worry about fans, because they will all have watercooling built in!;)
Open Starcraft clone? Well, the closest that I can think of is Free Craft. Right now it is being based on Warcraft, and I don't know about the AI currently, but I'm sure they would be glad to have some more help.
Of course this brings up the obvious question... When do we get to start instant messaging all the little green men?:) ( No, I don't mean the RIAA here... )
Man... You actually expected a Geocities site to stand up to a mad rush of slashdotting??? Whoo boy, I wonder how long it took before that site exceeded the data-transfer amount?
I don't have much Karma... heck don't even know that I have any.... but please mod parent up, it's probably going to be one of the most important comments, what with everyone cracking jokes about the cryogenics thing and Alaska...

My biggest problem is writing code that works in the first place so that you can even test it ;)

So now I can outfit all them Gungans with mathces and have a re-creation of an even more unlikely battle scene than the one in EP I? ;)

For those who don't know... Schadenfreude is pleasure derived from the misfortune of others. And yea, definitely Schadenfreude in this story. :)
... during a slashdotting? ;)
Heh... they'll need a lot more than a Fog Chiller to cool down their overheating processors as the /. wave hits ;)
And if you have the Google toolbar installed on IE... they are letting you run it in there. Now if only the Google toolbar worked in Mozilla

Can I have your Palm M100, then? ;)

So... if these chips suddenly go up brearthing fire and smoke, we'll have the perfect reason why, right?
That's the exact reason that they would want Kenau for this role... to get him out of the way ;)
