Slackware has always been my favorite distro, so I'm really excited to see what's in store in this release. For a supposedly "hard" distro, I've always found it quite easy and painless to install.
Maybe if you installed from the 50 diskettes it used to take 10 years ago, you'd know why it was considered 'hard'.
Please note that I made no claim to the amount of ozone a single rocket launch depletes, it is fairly small. But rockets do destroy ozone, lots of rockets are launched every year, and the number of launches is undoubtedly going to increase as time goes on.
The Delta 2 rocket is the third most atmospheric polluting rocket currently being used in the world (behind the Space Shuttle and Titan 4s). Every launch creates a mini hole in the ozone layer due to emissions from the solid fuel rockets spewing out hydrogen chloride and aluminum oxide.

Usually spelled "guarantee".
'Guaranty' in the original post, like 'warrantee' in the story post are both words. They are just not the words intended by the poster. The parent tried to misspell guarantee but used an actual word that means something quite similar. Same with warrantee. You can go look it up if you want.
And while you're snickering, he will probably get enough exercise and save enough money to come out about 50 times richer and healthier than you.
Actually, I ride 13 miles round trip to work 5 days a week, year round. With substantial hills in both directions. And in Seattle, it takes dedication due to the rain. I have an SUV that is 5 years old and has 23K miles on it. Most people put that many miles on their vehicles per year.
I only walk and ride my bicycle. In the last 4 years (since I gave up driving) I haven't used any gasoline (hydrogen, natural gas, or electricity) while going from point A to point B.
When I can buy a car with that kind of effencieny I'll look into it, but until then, a walkin' I a' go.
What was the point in masking the attacker's IP address?
Thats plain silly. Why are you protecting them?
For the same reason this type of thing will never work. This could be coming from a worm or virus on some unsuspecting housewife's laptop. You going to go 'own' them?
Our firewalls get port scanned many times daily. Our weblogs are filled with this kind of garbage: 63.189.X.196 - - [12/Jul/2004:16:31:04 -0700] "SEARCH/\x90\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\ x
I could probably contribute a thousand IPs from last month alone.
One a side note, if you have anything that works, it is possible to find charities that will accept old equipment (not too old, but not necessarily working.) You can write it off. I donated an old G3 last year and took a $200 write off.
Interesting story. I have given a lot of thought as to what I would do if that happened to me. I, too, have a conceled weapons permit and sometimes carry a Berreta.22 semi-auto or an HK USP.40 in the small of my back. Same with the shirt hiking up to revel them a few times. Noone called the cops though and I am not even sure anyone saw.
The main reason I have a concealed weapons permit is to eliminate (or at least greatly reduce) any chance of an illegal possession charge. Most gun crimes are felonies and that's the last thing anyone needs.
People see me walking out from my apartment and they get afraid.
In the US, most of the guns have red tips. But you can order the gun from overseas and have the red tip removed once it arrives.
You walk out of your apartment with your guns visible? Handguns with the red tips removed?
I'm own 5 handguns and with the exception of shotguns and rifles (which are impossible to take from your home to vehicle without being seen), I don't want anyone to see me with my guns. Aside from the fact that advertising you have handguns is probably a good way to get your house broken into and having them stolen, brandishing a fake weapon can get you arrested or at the very least having a cop detain you at gun point.

Um, not that I automatically disbelieve you or anything, but could you elaborate and/or cite some sources?
Here is an article.

"A new trailer warns that buying a pirate DVD is like stealing a car or phone."
Um... no. That is like saying killing a caterpillar is the same as killing George Bush
Uh, no. Buying pirated goods is theft.
Or in /.'s case:
"Build a better mousetrap and the world will not just beat a path to your door but will overwhelm your server."
Don' forget "and bitch about the patent."
But does it have the strength of 5 gorillas?
Are you going to claim you never have to port-scan in order to solve a problem?
No. But I have never legitimately port scanned any network other than my own (ie work and home).

But I found this pretty quickly on google. Has ratings and everything.
So, how much energy can you get from combusting a gallon of gas?
If you get all the atomic energy out of a gallon of gas, it would probably run for years.

Let me guess: You don't own a TV either.
Am I the only one who is troubled by the blend of proprietary and 'open' systems
I'm with you. I am even troubled by using my computer, what with all those patents and proprietary things under the hood.

yes, I have it too. wtf is that?
It's an attempt to exploit an IIS vulnerability.

About 1/100 of what could. I wish they'd take everything.
Like John Sayles said in "Men with Guns": "There are two types of men here, my friend: Men with guns and men without."
And in many, many countries, that is the difference between power and powerless, life and death.
So open source is literally infecting MS Windows
So it appears that Ballmer was right all along.

Dear Tron Guy,
Please don't.
Thanks,
