  1. Re:linux and windows on Dual User Windows PC · · Score: 2, Informative

Would it be possible for 1 user to run windows, while the other user runs linux?

You could use VMWare. But you'd probably be better off running Windows on top of Linux to accomplish this.

  4. Attention Slashdot: on VigyaanCD: Bio/Chemical Modeling Workbench on PC · · Score: 5, Insightful

Learning computational biology/chemistry has never been easier,

This may give you a limited working knowledge, but only formal education and real professional experience will provide you the depth of knowledge to become a competent bioinformatics programmer (or chem or physics or whatever.) Learning computational biology is not easy. People with formal education in biology can become ok to decent programmers. But it very rarely works the other way around. I have worked in life sciences for 15 years, the last 5 in bioinformatics and I have seen it time and again.

What does that site do? All I see is a drop down box where I can choose a US state, several empty ones without captions and one which says "null"...

Pick a city, it gives you a list of radio stations in that city. You can then pick a time and it will tell you the song and artist playing at that time. It also provides a way to jump to amazon or ebay to find and buy the cd if you want. Looks to be add free so I would guess they must get referal payments or something.
