>Another idea: breakdown of the Federation. It collapses sometime after Picard's retirement, and a starship crew makes the rounds restoring order to >worlds and rebuilding alliances.
>Wasn't that the plot of Andromeda.
Yup that was the plot of Andromeda but I quit watching it after they dumbed down the series because Kevin Sorbo couldnt understand the plot. I think some or most of the writers went to slightly better shows such Dead Zone on USA network.
anyway this season of enterprise has potential but they have too many filler episodes so I wont really miss it.
I wont miss the show if it gets canceled. But the one thing I disagree with you is I like the fact that the captain is ruled by emotion it rings more true to me especialy after the major attack on earth story line. The last episode after being in reruns they air a rehash of stories that have been done many times on the other treks.
I would ask one thing of them... If they are going to not renew the series at least let them finish the current arc because i think just leaving a series dead with wondering what happened just plain sucks.
>So, I wonder what pets think of our modern video and audio systems? Are those DVDs that to us have spectacular pictures and CD-quality
>surround sound appear to dogs as horrible flickering lightshows accompanied by intolerably distorted sound full of digital artifacts?
I don't know about TV frame rates. But I have had several cats. They didnt mind the loud speakers. For some reason they liked to sleep on the speakers. They wouldnt move off the speakers til I cranked it up so loud that the speakers were visibly vibrating. Sometimes I think they cant hear noise from speakers but everyonce in a while an odd noise from built in tv speakers and they turned around to find the source of noise.
I dont know about the other states. But I do know about Ohio. Ohio -usualy- votes for republican presidential while -usualy- voting democrat for statewide offices. So the promise to Bush to win Ohio was not needed. Since Ohio usualy goes that way anyway.
>I have to admit, I think this is a good idea in theory. We'll see if it passes, and if so how it's executed. I have to say, renting vids from blockbuster, it's a >bit.... well, wrong to have Manhunt RIGHT next to the cat in the hat, or Piglet's game... (for younger kids who can read)
I think Hunting Piglet should be right next to it instead.
>I'm sorry, but I saw NONE of what you listed in Firefly. That show was boring, poorly written, and the acting was horrid! The characters were so 1 >dimensional it was almost funny.
I agreed the first several episodes so i stopped watching it. Then when fox decided to actualy air the 2 hour pilot ( that should of been aired first! ) I watched it knowing it was cancled. It all changed for me. I finally grokked the show and it really pissed me off how fox had fucked up the episode airing order. I also was expecting more Buffy like dialogue when it really was closer to Angel ( but having its own style, that does take some getting used to) I think that was another factor on people not liking the show. I am looking forward to chance to view them in proper order with hopefully the unaired 3? episodes when they come out on DVD.
All the sites mentions seem to cater to geeks only or people who already know why software patents are a bad idea. Some major site should shutdown like suse or mandrake. Those are the only major open source companies I could think of that operate in europe off the top of my head.

Wonder how worse it will be compared to Pioneer 1100 Digtal boxes that Time Warner provides. The damn thing totaly lokcs up at least once a month and I have to call the cable company and they have to fix the problem. Even exchanged the box 3 times all of them do the same damn thing. If there was a to get directv or dishnetwork in my area I would be there in a second sigh...
There is nothing stopping you from using a different bootloader. What the article is talking about is that there is no windows install disk. Only an image, like one you would make with "ghost".
I just realized that after i posted it sigh. Sometimes you get idea stuck in your head and cant see the forest for the trees... Well to be get back on topic earlier this year helped get a Dell for a very good friend It actualy did come with a real XP CD as well as the those restore thingys.
and change NT/2K/XP boot.ini to look something like this
[boot loader] timeout=30 default=linux [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINN T="Microso ft Windows 2000 Professional"/fastdetect c:\linux.bin=linux
Ive used that since NT 4.0 for my dual boot systems. Its a bit of pain to use NTs boot loader instead of what linux distros provide but it gets the job done.
Gaim is a fantastic program in linux. However messing with fonts and the like is a major pain in the ass when using windows so of the programs Ive tried I prefer trillian the best even though its not OSS.
Yeah I know what you mean I dropped my membership in ACLU this year... I still get all sorts of weird shit from other groups that think just because one was in aclu they support. Im not complaining I get loads of mailing labels fof free
A Democrat leading the charge to outlaw Linux and open source AGAIN! I am saying this as a registered democrat before someone marks this as flamebait. And I note there is at least 1 republican involved in this my point there really is no diffrence between the major parties.
Just dont know what to do... EFF ACLU all good and well but there is no way in hell they can ever match the funds that MS MPAA RIAA et al have...
I guess its true if voting really made a diffrence it would be illegal.
>I dont think there's much of a case to support SCO being held to the requirments of the GPL in their "released software". They were inadvertently duped >into it, and thus cant be held accountable.
Damn the bastards at IBM they slipped SCO some GHB and had their way with them.
>(ps: You know the Iraqi citizens are protesting _against_ the US occupation - right?)
This is actualy a good thing they are allowed to protest things like this. Before the sadistic Saddam regime would have had them executed or worse tortured in ways we cant even imagine.
Of course they are protesting they have little food no electricity not to mention all the looting going on. However it is the coaltions responsibility to set up temoporary govt to try to fix those problems that were caused by war. I suppose some will call it puppet regime for the England and America so bet it. The Iraqi people will be better off in the long run. It is not in American and Britains interest to be occupyping iraq indefinately.

>First it was an attack on those evil amendment thingies. Now this. I feel our freedoms slipping away.
/sarcasm/
>Don't think of it as your freedoms slipping away, think of it as complying with the Patriot Act.
Thats right no ad in the history of the united states of america has been banned before January 2001 when Bush got in office.
umm Volcano High is a South Korean movie.

>Isn't anyone worried about vigilantes using this information to track down and assault these offenders (regardless if it's merited)?
Exactly.
What Im wondering about is a 18 or 17year old with 16 year and wind getting the "sex offender" label. Are those on that list also?

The Corp is mother, the Corp is father. - Babylon 5
Cant get DirecTV or Dishnetwork because of a fucking tree that can not be removed "legally". So im stuck with whatever time warner provides.

I use this old method and I am by no means a linux expert.
N T="Microso ft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect
1: change lilo or your grub to use your linux boot partion...
2: run lilo or grub
3: dd if=/dev/hda? count=1 bs=512 of=/mnt/win_c/linux.bin
and change NT/2K/XP boot.ini to look something like this
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=linux
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WIN
c:\linux.bin=linux

Yeah use your signals so the other guy knows when to cut you off!!

>Now if Ground Force, and Northern Exposure would be released on DVD I'd be happy.
We haven't even got season 2 of Twin Peaks yet.
The first season has to go to be the most amazing TV transfer of any series I have seen.
