Because it's only ever worked about half the time. The other times, it does weird things like finalize a blank DVD-R without writing any of the data I told it to.
I much prefer gcombust.. It's similar to Buckley's cough syrup. It's ugly as sin, but it works every time.
I usually take payment in food and beer. It's amazing how eager someone is willing to cook you a meal or buy you a pizza just for getting BonziBuddy off their computer.
Same here, and it amazes me how many people offer beer as payment. How many people would offer beer to a mechanic before he fixes their brakes on their car before and while he does the work?
Hey, that's 34M$ they're giving to a huge, foreign company
Well, as a Winnipegger.. Let me just say thank god we're not giving it to the Jets anymore. The only thing worse than spending 40M a year to fund a hockey team, is spending 40M a year to prop up a BAD hockey team.
And each time stupid people were crying out loud that the FSF was "enforcing" the GPL and that
they were communist, viral GPL, blah, blah, but that is beside the point.
They were? Who would say such a stupid thing? (Besides Bill G and the sideshow monkey that is)
See, he's more likely to get a job in his chosen field by staying where he is than by moving to a country...
Which post did I say he should move to another country?
.. where he has no frinds, contacts, or work history.
You and the rest of the people who get caught up in blaming their circumstances rather than examining their options don't get any sympathy from me. I moved 2,000 kilometers from home after school to find decent work. By far the best thing I got out it was finding new friends, contacts and actually having a job history in my field.

I just wish their install process was a little more automated. HINT HINT!!
Agreed. Porthole is a step in the right direction, but its pretty buggy still.

Absolutely.. Sorry I have no mod points. :(
Except about the k3b, I can't stand to use it in Linux, I can't imagine why anyone would want to in Windows.
Perhaps you should look up those words?
Here's one for you too buddy.

Also, Denmark has it's own country code, +45. North America has it's own.
We're #1! We're #1!
Sorry, couldn't resist.
I mean, I like Star Trek too
I like Star Trek a lot.. Except "Enterprise", I could never get into it. It seems too much like Voyager meets Days of our Lives.
I'd kick in $50 to Scott Bakula's severance package, but that's about it.
Pop quiz:
If you don't use IE either, set it to its most paranoid security setting, and add windowsupdate.microsoft.com to the trusted sites.
I prefer the backup my vmware directory and let IE eat itself a new one method myself though.
Windows Media Player is also an infection vector for spyware, especially WMVs.
Or MSN, kazaa, edonkey/emule, outlook, etc..
But considering ISTbar is malware for IE, does it even affect Firefox at all?
until the EFF has no more money to give WINE.
:)
Interesting timing on that comment.
Why don't you just start typing in your URIs from now on?
why do you need a next freenode?
And since when was #linux a pinnacle of excellence?
those screwy star-shaped ones that nobody has
What a torx? They aren't that hard to find. You can get a set for $5 at any hardware store.
Link here.
Sweeet, I guess I can upgrade my Radeon 7200 now. :)

You're welcome, Phoenix.. No refunds.

This is the second time Slashdot has fallen for an anti-Microsoft joke from a submitter
Uh huh, and Monkey Boy was just a bad dream too right?

they are phasing out AIX in the next 12 months
Says who? Got a link?
Their Super Computing cluster??? Only runs Linux.
Which super computing cluster? This one?
Are you implying that Bush won because he bribed the voters?
I don't think he was talking about Las Angeles when he said Latin America.
Chop it down, bud.
;)
And widen it a bit for Christ sake.
Your inability to grasp a simple point astounds me.
Without knowing your shoe size, it's impossible to know what you're talking about. Give us some context man.
All this was, was an observation that saying "We have childproof lighters here," is unclear on an international forum.
Hah! You forgot to mention what kind of car you drive, and if you have any pets. Next time be more specific please.
