I didn't read her paper so I can't comment any further than I have.
I can't comment on swaggart's comment other than to say that you don't defend another sin by committing another. We say "i'll kill him" a lot without meaning it. I highly doubt given who he is he meant that. He is probably tiredof the gays complaining they have no rights even though they are not enslaved, can do and say what they want, and have driver's licenses at will. I say that is just as much as any straight man. But my guess of what he meant is just that.
Schools are one place that the christian religion is not allowed anymore, even if a student privately practices, although some schools are teaching islam now. Religion is being pushed out of gov't buildings as well despite it being there for decades with no complaints.
I guess people choosing God Bless American might mean they just might like to be reminded that God is still around and they, unlike some others, aren't afraid to still keep Him in mind when the going gets rough.
Says who? the small minority who want it removed? In the not so distance past religion was a public matter and practiced in public and no one had issues with it, whether or not they all participated or not they let it go since it wasn't bothering them. Now, we have to be politically correct so as to not hurt anyone's feelings and make them cry, despite offending those whose religion is being taken away and they are forced into seclusion in order to practice and celebrate their faith.
Only those of the liberal left would call ANYONE who has a religion a zealot or nuts. Only in America. People in other parts of the world have slightly less negative views of people who have Christianity as their faith. Just because someone has a relion doesn't make them a zealot.
If anything those who don't have a religion are the zealots because I'm always seeing them call people on the right zealots but you never see the people on the right calling those on the left zealots. It seems the real zealots are the only ones who are wanting to point the finger. Also, it's people like you who call the right zealots that make the girl think there are anti-christian views in this country. All religion is being removed from the public eye to make this country as secular as possible. I'd say it's pretty anti-christian (various aspects of the islam are gradually being phased in though, go figure)
I'd much rather have an OS in a mission critical environment at least tell me something when it crashes (linux: oops!) than give me a BSOD full of incomprehensible characters.
sounds like the perfect plan for the anti-christ to use to deny you access to everything involving a computer unless you submit to him and use a trusted computer, especially so you can be tracked.
No one is perfect but at least those who read the Bible try to be perfect (but realize they will never reach it but they still try to better themselves) and have a way of comparing themselves to how they *should* live, as opposed to those who have no religion at all and make up their own rules to live by.
By the way, just because he had slaves doesn't negate everything good about him. If that were the case then the fact he was religious (and therefore a good thing, despite what you think) could negate any of the bad things he did although I'm sure you would prefer the bad negating the good instead of the other way around. Any anti-religious person will prefer to look at the bad in religious people rather than the good and call them on it, like being religious implies you are supposed to be perfect or something. Don't be consumed by double standards.
Why does someone die from cancer? Why is there so much suffering in the world? Etc. Equally good arguments can be made for either an elaborate system of cause and effect, or that something happens for no reason at all (i.e., is random).
People die from cancer just because cancer is another affliction that this world brings to the life that lives in it. There is so much suffering because for one, it's not a perfect world like Heaven where people don't get old, they don't get sick, and only people who are good reside. No one is affected by satan's convincing tone. The second reason is what I just said. People are easily persuaded to do the wrong thing or to hurt someone.
I'm in the computer field. I have a systems engineering degree and working on a CS degree. I'm one of the few in my area of interest out of the people that I know that actually believe in God. Just about everyone I run into in life and on here have no faith at all for some reason.
It is two processors on a single die. It would be like having a dual processor system, but only needing a single socket to support it. Now add in Hyperthreading and it would appear to be a 4-way system. Many people are really excited about this,
Especially those people who license software by the CPU.
Do you really think that Brits are sitting round their TV trying to remember whether it was Carl Yaztremski or Carlton Fisk who hit that famous home run in the 1975 World Series?
Well, they should know shouldn't they? It was the *World* Series afterall, right? People in South Africa probably even know the answer to that one.
Thank you for the clarification. Although you are entitled to your opinion they are entitled to theirs. Some things do happen for a reason. A simple example of this is when a child dies a terrible death from a certain disease and the parents setup a foundation or something similar to help children in the future. Sure the parents lost their child and are terribly upset about it but they made the best of it and are able to help others because of it. That can't be considered a coincidence becase the 2 events didn't happen at the same time but were the result of a cause and effect situation. Most people would consider the first child dying for a reason so that others may be helped as a result.
I'm sure they think you are nuts in return for you thinking they are. Of all the people I've witnessed on here who make an anti-religious comment, they do so in a bigotted manner. I don't hang out with people who think anyone who isn't an atheist is crazy but I sure do see a lot of it on here and that was the reason for my comment.
On top of the fact that the minute they realize you are doing this they are just going to head over to the public library, friend's house, etc... or when they are older and have a job, simply get a cell phone and a $20 cord to access the net from that. And beyond some very hitlerish things, I can't quite think of anything you could do to stop something like that.
Oh okay, so then parents should just buy the porn for them then since the child will get it somehow anyway?
You head it off at the pass and not let them read slashdot which condones porn viewing. You teach them morals and watch who their friends are. Garbage in, garbage out. And come to think of it, some tv shows should be off limits, like those which seem to make it a point to talk about sex, lesbians, gays, and porn in a way that endorses all of them.
Bottom line is you have to set limits for your kids just like there are limits for adults (called the legal system although some limits are being removed in the present state of affairs).
I'd like to know why just because someone has religious faith it makes them nuts. I say anyone who doesn't have religious faith are assholes and bigots but that's just me. They seem to prove me right everytime they make a comment about religious people being nuts. Having a faith does not make someone an extremist contrary to the voices in your head telling you otherwise.
amateur
Thankfully i dont live in california, well actually i refuse too, due to their twisted concept of the constitution..
and due to their twisted concept of heterosexuality and gender.

and thus satan inherits the earth and all the sin that comes with it as a bonus.

I personally use 'shutdown -h now'
get a picture of two naked men embracing
get used to it. That is the status quo nowadays
Size isn't necessarily a problem for me
Lucky for you
"did you check parameters here? potential buffer overflow? what if this is NULL?" And it wasn't even important code he was working on.
Clippy can still be dangerous if he goes unchecked.

BUt yet hoping for one to hit Silicon Valley is okay? Makes sense, protect the homos but hate the spammers.

how many times is this story going to be repeated and still people act like they have heard it for the first time?
My g/f says I have terrible up time...I mean....nevermind.

Microsoft? They aren't listed.

Be careful what you say. Someone might call you nuts just because you said the word "God". If you already are nuts then nevermind. Move along.

Like the National Enquirer. I saw the building for it when I was little and visiting my Dad during the summer.
