    Thats what I think...

Halo is only thought of as 'superb' in the console arena. On PC, it was 'Just Another FPS', with nothing to distinguish it from more popular titles such as the BattelField's, FarCry, etc... the action was repetitive, the weapons bland, and the terrain was homogenous through out the entire game.

Halo 2 I believe will be more of the same, with the only real difference between the first and this sequel being the story line, and prettier graphics. It will be loved by people who own consoles, and have yet to properly experience what an FPS should really be like. I predict that gamers who are FPS purists, will have the same gripes with this games as they did with the first one.

IMO, the hype surrounding the first game was completely unwarranted... and thus I suspect the same will ring true when I bother getting around to play this.

I don't think I've ever seen a rechargable battery pack, for this kind of device, that was rechargable outside of the products housing.

Anyone know the answer to this question?

    YAY!

The good thing about consoles is this: hardware consistency.

Unlike a PC, there is rarely ever more than 1 hardware configuration to cater for, and thus a game can be made to push that one config to it's absolute limit. A PC on the other hand could consist of a near infinite number of configations, and games must be made to cater for the lowest common denominator, as people don't reallyu buy games that doesn't run well on their system, and they wont buy a game that doesn't look good on their hardware.

This is the problem I see with XNA: The sheer number of hardware configurations it will need to cater for will detract from the over all visual quality of the games.

It shouldn't, but when a game's graphics are so offensive to the senses that they hamper your enjoyment of the game, it does.

    Question:

How can you make an assumption that the graphics would hamper your enjoyment of the game if you've never played it?

To be honest, I wasn't hot on the whole cel-shading idea either... that was until I played the game, and I realized why they did it. The story is as mature as any Zelda game I've played, the only thing that was different from the N64 Zeldas was the artistic style of the graphics... which IMHO, worked well within the game world. Gannon still looed evil; The monsters looked very manga like (which was the case in ALL previous zelda games). I get the impression you've only ever seen stills of the game, because it wasn't all sugar-coated like you say.. and the look of the models was quite gritty when appropriate.

So Link was a fat little kid... it's not the same Link from the N64 Zelda's anyway. He's still a hylian knight decendant, so he's still a champion...
