Mozilla might support ActiveX soon see:

Of course this is a seperate project independent of mozilla.org. It will probably be available as an _optional_ plugin.
I'm all for more drilling and taking advantage of cool technology but that doesn't mean we should dump barrels of oil in the sea...you know there's something called balance and moderation. That means it's a good idea to turn the light off if you're not using it but I don't have the arrogance to try to get the government to force you if you don't care.
If it's so great then why don't you go and live there? As far as I'm concerned I'm happy where I live with clean running water, choice of DSL or cable modem, full service gas stations, etc etc
Finally a voice of reason. The FTC shouldn't be telling AOL how to run its business. Besides, the government is the biggest monopoly around-how come nobody is calling for its breakup?
You are wrong. Not only did Al Gore invent Linux, he invented China too!

broadband internet also uses much more energy than regular bandwith. Here's the deal: we'll tax SUV's plus broadband internet connection (or any connections left all the time 24/7)
oh I can hear it coming "I don't have an SUV but don't you lay a finger on my internet!" Figures
what if windows crashes and mozilla goes with it? what if your cat turned off the computer? it's a useful feature to have and moz guys are still working on stability
I'm not crazy about Microsoft but I want them to be defeated by legitimate means-not by some stupid judge who doesn't even know how to use a computer who thinks he can just break a company in pieces. There's no precedent for that and it made the entire case against Microsoft look like a joke. It actually made MS look like the poor victim because let's face it, compared to the US federal government even Microsoft looks puny.
most of the people who are against these foods are the same idiots that advocate all these 100% natural herbs that are untested, unproven and may have dangerous side effects. For example St John's wort is a joke and ephedra has been linked to several deaths. So what if it's 100% natural? Poison ivy and toadstools are also natural. Plus they don't tell you that organic vegetables are grown in feces. Can someone say E coli (100% natural too)? Hope everything was sterilized properly
you're assuming that open sourcing is some magical process that instantly turns crap to gold. That's not true because there's a lot of open source crap out there and there's a lot of good stuff that is very proprietary.
free software has advanced in some areas but I have yet to see a GPL game (or any open source licensed game) that rivals even commercial games from 5 years ago let alone today's games. So unless you're satisfied with pingus, you're going to have to reboot to Windows for games for a very long time.
And I'm sure that your internet connection which is probably on 24/7 more than makes up for the power consumption that you save. Especially if it's broadband. So what are you going to do? Shut down all the data centers and the internet?
but I like all the stuff! I like having AIM in my sidebar, spelling checker, java and all the plugins already there. My dream will come true when AIM is combined with ICQ so that I can chat with 200 million people

This will definitely compete with Microsoft's Smart tags! Maybe we'll see this in CSS4?

there's plenty of ZPG going on in Africa thanks to AIDS, civil wars, famine and lots of other diseases/problems. Does that make you happy?
I think what you want is configurable keybindings-a good idea. but i think gestures are for people like me who are completely attached to the mouse

There are plenty of bison. The difference is that today we raise them for food instead of chasing hundreds of them off a cliff

mozilla is working on P3P http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62399, image permissions, disabling popups...all sorts of things
