    There's also gnustep. I won't comment on the gui side of things, but their foundation kit is solid. I'm not sure if they support blocks yet. Another option (particularly for windows) is cocotron, although that is designed for cross-compiling from x-code on a mac.

    json - no, but there are third-party JSON serialization/deserialization classes. There are also native property lists (NeXT style, xml, or compressed), which are supported by most of the foundation classes (NSData, NSDate, NSArray, NSDictionary, NSString, NSNumber). eg: myDict = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithContenstOfURL: @"http://...."];

    closures: Yes, via blocks. requires OS X 10.6 or iOS 4.

    untyped variables -- C data types are still C data types, but there is an id type which means any objective c object (instance or class). At runtime, you can check if it responds to a message, check what class type it is, etc.

    garbage collection -- iOS doesn't have it, but I'm generally happy with the NSAutoreleasePool mechanism.

    Android is not truly open source. Most android phones are locked down and cannot be modified by the user thanks to tivo-ization. GPL 2? might as well be BSD or closed source as far as the end user is concerned. Only GPL v3 is truly open source. It's funny to see companies locking down linux and the slashtards thinking that's a "win" somehow.

    Let's say a baby pops out with some random mutation, makes him allergic to peanuts. In the proper scheme of things, he would eat peanuts, die and not pass his inferior genes on. That's evolution, survival of the fittest. But the very same liberals who denounce creationism are trying to deny evolution with their modern science and medicine. Meanwhile, the third world dark skins are breeding like rabbits. Their inferior genes die off and superior genes survive, creating a race of super humans. Right now, black muslims are conquering Europe and mexicans are conquering the US. Thanks a lot, liberal assholes.
