Right, so innovative that a 2nd fiddle video game system is a good substitute for plowing what likely amounted to a cool Billion dollars worth of shareholders' money and decade worth of expectations into a dysfunctional tablet division that they dissolved for the world's own good.
I used a friend's Toshiba tablet and it was lame as hell. The iPad looks like a gamechanger of a device already... Microsloth, just pack it in . . . .
Seriously - these types of drone reconnaissance would make the police state into a lock down state. It would be great if legislation was put in place now in Anticipation of the privacy invasion that devices like these can cause in the future . . . Imagine flying smaller versions into large vertical cities and having the capability to peer into windows . . . the state cops in Florida already use small aircraft to conduct speed traps occasionally but this could be a whole other ball of wax
yeah, but so what? it makes the world a much smaller place (once again) overnight . . . space really is the next place scientifically that we should be looking to drive our economy (and species one day) on to higher frontiers . . .
I agree. Non-techies and/or older folks who are unaware of tabbing don't use it. But they would if they were shown it or if they had the mental capacity to try something aside from AOL.
Sounds more like they're looking for intelligent incremental improvement to me. And why not?
Tabbing has taken over the browsing world entirely! Even the Redmondites can't throw an ad campaign accusing tabs of being evil after being the final adopter of the technology. . . .
there's a whole industry of companies that sprung up just to plug the leaks. any free software on the mac is just commercial crud that's reporting your passwords, preferences, deepest darkest secrets, etc. to a secret dark corporate master who is selling the data, or advertising to you to make money, stealing your bandwidth, processing time, etc.
oh wait, that's winbloze . . . .
it is great that there is the scrutiny, but when most of the bugs are social engineering, or physical access hacks, it just confirms what the whole world knows:
Macs are more secure!
Oh, and for all of you people with blank passwords, please fill them in . . . . at least use the combination to your luggage. is 123456 that tough to remember or type????
look, anyone who has, and the worst i've seen was Andrew (165 MPH winds) knows that a few hundred pound object is nothing to a gust of wind moving at triple digit speed. rocks are not exactly the most aerodynamic objects on the planet, and as such would be fairly easy to get pushed around on a dry surface, or even a mucky wet one. . . . .
it's bad enough that microsoft takes 5 years to release beta software that's probably going to be 50% capable of mimicing os x. they can't even come up with a decent, non-trademarked name. hell they're a monopoly, why don't they call it microsoft cheerios or something!
if you're a knowledge worker, and you're hooked on Mac OS, you'll follow wherever they are leading. otherwise, you might find yourself feeling suddenly stupid and non-productive (ie. windows user). not to flame on windows, but the number of people that i know who are ditching their PC's as non-operative is growing significantly.
i think that this MacIntel switch is going to devastate Microsloth and we'll see the old archrivals at opposite ends of the totem pole once again. let's face it longhorn is an abortion, like the much researched and miniscule user based OS 2 Warp. Sure, they are packing it in after 20 years of use, but man, 20 years of obscurity to the general public. . . . . . . ..
Besides, when a company with 30B USD market cap becomes a part of a company with 170B USD market cap it's called an acquisition, not a "merger
Actually, anytime two companies do merge operations, even when their sizes do not match, it is considered a merger. What most people would not know is that most merger activities are considered acquisition activity. It's just that until a completed company emerges from the rubble, it's pretty difficult to determine who "bought" whom. In the world of corporate culture, usually, the company that controls the board is termed to be the acquiring entity, after the fact.
Widely known fact here; When Apple bought NeXT Computer, a rarely occurring occurrance occurred: The smaller company took over the management of the larger company.
How does the old saying go, "History repeats itsself, first as tragedy, second as farce." I'm thinking that maybe the combined IntApple Computer Conductor Corporation will in the future acquire Sun, so that Scott Nealy can manage the monster, muahahahahahahahahahahahhaah.
That means the Beatles' "Love Me Do" and "Please Please Me," scheduled to to go into the public domain in 2013, would earn royalties for record companies until 2063.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Michael Jackson own the rights to most of the Beatles catalogue?
The mocha is great for what it is, but still, it has a gazillion cords, just like any other desktop, and has proven to be pretty much useless for traveling. We'll see when I get the mini, but I plan on making that the entertainment machine, with eyetv so . . . .
It's bad enough that you would defile a perfectly healthy Mac Mini. But you did it just to prove that you couldn't do the same thing with a PC. No CD drive! Terrible. People complained like hell when the iMac first dropped the floppy drive.
This proves that the Mac Mini is superior in size to performance compared to a Wintel box.Even the newest miniature PC parts still aren't small enough to duplicate the engineering.
To compare a not yet released motherboard with a slower processor to the Mac Mini. Well you've proven our point all along;)
Ok, now this all makes sense to me. IBM is getting a huge tax writeoff for doing a "cash rich splitt off" as described in MSNBC.com. Basically, it allows them to sell the unit for cash and stock and write off the proceeds. It's a strange loophole designed to allow companies to cheat Uncle Sam in a creative accounting sort of way.
Just in case you need them, read PINAC http://bit.ly/10rules2recordco...
RIP Steve Jobs. The world is a far richer place having had you here. Difference made.

Right? "Only dead salmon go with the flow" - however, undead salmon continue to have feelings . . . hmmm. Good Job Sarah Salmoncuda!

It blasts a message over twitter when you let rip a blast? Do not mod this redundant, hahahah
