Who says all they do is game? Afterall they're going to great effort to put on an event they'll like and it's going to take a shitload of work and education to get there.
This is well beyond 'just gaming'
They sound a lot more intelligent then your schoolmates that can't hold a decent job.
Personally I don't think it's a bad intro to dick- they were the first dick books I had ever read when I was about 21 and I got completely sucked into them.
I've read a hell of a lot more of his stuff since, but I still go back and reread the valis trilogy every few years.
The man responsible for the stories that spawed minority report and blade runner deserves some attention here. I highly recomment the valis trilogy: Valis, The Divine Invasion and The Transmigration of Timothy Archer
I'm almost done with 'if chins could kill' by bruce campbell and it's pretty damn good too.
I know a book by/about motley crue sounds strange, but just trust me on this one- here's what wammo had to say:
Whew, I feel better. And now for something completely different. A few days ago, I was in Powell's bookstore in Portland and I happened across a copy of The Dirt by Motley Crue. I don't own any Motley Crue albums. I saw a few of their videos and didn't pay much attention. I met Nikki Sixx at the Black Cat through a mutual friend and gave him shit about his warpaint. Let's just say, I'm not the biggest Motley Crue fan. Now i can say this. THIS IS THE BEST FUCKING BOOK ABOUT ROCK AND ROLL I HAVE EVER READ. Anyone into Spinal Tap, Hard Core Logo, L.A. glitz or tales of degradation, travel and excess must read this sucker. I haven't been able to put it down. I started two days ago and I'm almost through. Hell, I'll probably reread it before I get home on Sunday. There, I said it. Shit, I might even go out and buy Dr. Feelgood, used of course..
really? then why does the new itunes with the new ipod give me this option then? it will replace the library on my ipod, and the ipods are designed to not allow you to take music from them to a mac (the share is designed to only work one way), but this will work with podworks.
well, you can load the other music directory to your ipod, then use a program like Podworks to put the music back into your private itunes library- a function that you cannot do with the stock ipod and itunes. This makes it very easy to steal music, still not one step, but it's not bad either!
Anyone using a 2.4 ghz portable phone or 802.11b knows that microwave ovens cause interference on the 2.4 ghz band. I've never seen an commercial airplane without there. So do they make special microwave ovens just for airplanes that don't mess with the 2.4 ghz spectrum?
in this article it's how their going to get the store on windows- I think it will give people a taste of apple and want one- that's what their betting on, so I'm also willing to bet it won't be a half-assed port.
I have a home based business in Chicago and the city makes it relatively easy/cheap as long as you follow only a few rules. the city charges $125/year for a regular business license. I think the county was $25 for a one time license and the state doesn't charge anything to register so you can charge and pay state sales tax legally- I'm all service, so I only have to send in paperwork once a year to the state. there were no zoning requirements or anything else that needed to be done. but there are restrictions: I think a limit of 4 delivery vehicles a day, 5 customers a day at your home and you're not allowed to have a publicly displayed sign outside of your home advertising a business.
of course getting all the right info from one location is difficult considering it's a big city and none of the organizations(city, county, state) seem to know anything about the others or what you need to do to satisfy everyone.
I remember picking this up and actually reading it after I used my free battery card- everything seemed to run on batteries at that time, even though I can't really remember what any of those things were.
I know I'm aging myself with this post, but I also think that those comics completely ended up turning me off from the really good shit that came out later, including anime
I happen to have a friend that's an accountant and also a complete idiot about computers, so I offer him tech support, which he rarely needs/uses, and in exchange he does my taxes for me every year. their very complicated, but I don't have to worry about them any more.
the guys from mr. show made a movie called 'run ronnie run' a couple years ago, but touchstone spent a shitload on this funny as hell movie that was never released and can now only be seen if you snag it over kazaa.
a couple years ago, I think it was right after the election, if you typed 'dumb motherfucker' into Google it brought up a link to the bush jr. official store. You can see one of the original stories about it in this wired article.
I think they actually threatened to sue Google over it- Google had to force the removal of it from their system. It was very funny!!
Northwestern recently sent this out to all students:
Dear Students:
The following three bulleted topics are of student interest:
* Social Security Number is removed from WildCARD ID With complaints about identity theft nearly doubled last year as the fast-growing crime topped the government's list of consumer frauds for the third consecutive year, WildCARD offices on the Evanston and Chicago campuses have started issuing new WildCARD identifications without social security numbers.
The re-designed WildCARDS are being issued at no charge to faculty, staff and students who wish to exchange their existing card for one minus a social security number printed on the front. Those without a card to exchange because it was lost or stolen will be charged a $15 replacement fee.
"The new purple WildCARD looks the same as the old one, but as opposed to printing the person's social security number that used to be their Northwestern "id" number, we have implemented a shortened "emplid" number which the University is issuing that has no association whatsoever with one's social security number," said Arthur Monge, manager of WildCARD and Vending.
"We are not mandating that WildCARD holders be issued a new card, but the option is available for anyone who feels concerned about having the social security number visible on their existing card. It is a matter of personal choice to replace their existing card for one with an "emplid" number, at no charge, unless they have lost their card or it has been stolen." Since switching to a new WildCARD is optional, it can be done at one's leisure. Existing WildCARDS will continue to work, so if someone doesn't feel the need to have one without a social security number immediately, they can continue using their existing card until it expires.
Northwestern University's multi-purpose, one-card program, WildCARD, was developed nine years ago to provide better identification for members of the University community and to simplify use of existing services, control access, reduce handling of cash, and enhance security. Students, faculty, staff, spouses and domestic partners of active, full-time faculty or staff, authorized contractors working within the University community, Research Park tenants, and individuals affiliated with a University department are all eligible for a WildCARD. For more information, call Art Monge (847) 467-3135 or check the WildCARD Web site at: http://www.univsvcs.northwestern.edu/WildCard /inde x.html
* New vending machine refund bank locations If you didn't already know it, there are vending machine refund banks located throughout both campuses. A complete list can be found on the WildCARD & Vending web site at: http://www.univsvcs.northwestern.edu/WildCard /vend ing.html#refundloc
New locations include the Family Institute at 618 Library Pl (front desk), Lake Shore Center at 850 N. Lake Shore Drive (front desk) and at Wieboldt Hall, 339 E. Chicago (Administrative office, 2nd fl). One is also planned for Galter Library in the near future.
Each vending machine should have a sticker on it that indicates the nearest refund bank. If one is missing, please inform the Evanston Wildcard Office at 7-6843.
* Other tidbits of information: --The Abbott Hall ATM now sells stamps --A Pepsi vending machine promotion is taking place now. Pepsi is giving away 80 Willie the Wildcat bobble head dolls. Look for a sticker on your next Pepsi purchase.
in alaska working with teams of mexicans that would come up just for the fishing seasons. although it would be nice to read this article with the little bit of spanish I do remember, but there just aren't nearly enough vulgarities in it for me to get anywhere.

DeadTech
it's sort of like an virtual version of the 'Amber Alert' for viruses instead of lost children.
I hope it works!
how much?
nobody seems to recycle anything for free anymore, but as long as you promise

Yeah, I have a cousin that only speaks 'Sienfield' now- we used to talk almost daily over long distance, needless to say we don't talk anymore

and the software is only $8

IGOR (so far the best looking, but expensive)
standard: $550
education: $395
student: $85
Although it suggests the student rate is for personal use only, I think I would try to find me a student.
