Some folks formerly at Schriever Air Force Base did something similar with Defense Satellite Communication Systems satellites, which saves the Air Force $5 million per year per satellite. There's more on that story here.
(Note that I've carefully said nothing that would identify the schools. This is intentional, so you might suspect that it might be schools in your area.;-)
So the personal Web page listed in your profile and hosted at MIT is coincidental?:)
What's wrong with it? Uppercase, lowercase and numbers. Looks safe to me.
Please. A dictionary attack would have nailed it in a couple of hours, tops -- especially given that most of the software used for dictionary attacks also attacks numbers used as letters (i.e., "t1me" instead of "time").
Now we know why China wants to build destroying missiles. You can take out the whole attack force by destroying the satellite network.
You'd do more than that -- you'd take out a great deal of modern-day American strategy. We'd be forced back to Vietnam- and Korean War-era methods of fighting without space superiority. We'd be a huge step closer to having to fight by the numbers, which anyone going against China is going to lose. That's why "space situational awareness" is a big priority for the Air Force right now.
You're still in a stronger position if you negotiate the contract in the first place. The better thing to remember is: It's a contract, and you can negotiate it before you sign it. The cell phone company may tell you where to stick it, and they're not going to change their contract for anyone; or they might let you add or remove terms for your individual contract, because it means they won't have to make those changes for everybody.
Iran seems to fit your bill nicely. I don't know what their stance is on copyright laws, but they might host a site like this just to poke a stick in the U.S.' eye.
I would have to inquire as to why your IT department isn't managing the software updates across the LAN? What are they getting paid for, if not PC configuration management?
Contrary to some asshat mod's assertion, the schmucks in the White House have everything to do with this discussion. Think about it: The government wants to track our every move we make within and outside our country's border but doesn't believe they should be accountable to us?
A giant, red, glow-in-the-dark What the Fuck goes out to our government for this one.

That's not cleavage. Though, in her defense, I will say that she doesn't appear to have a pronounced adam's apple.
The time measurement is built-in. Watts are a measure of energy over time -- joules per second.
There is no indication that it is going away.
Either you're a troll, or you haven't been paying attention.
I would just be thankful that this oppressive regime allows you to have an opinion that is negetive to them and allows you to express it.
For now.

I prefer to be called a PC Enthusiast, not a die-hard desktop user.
I'm perfectly fine with being called a die-hard desktop user. Yippee-ki-yay, motherfucker!
What part of whether the executive order is valid or invalid do you think will impact the executive branch's decision to enforce it?
Criminals are dumb.
No, criminals are hot!
Well, okay, not really.
Not only is Maher's comment protected speech, but he was right too!
Try parroting that shit to the folks who are spending 12 or 15 months at a time in Iraq. I imagine they might have a different opinion.

.hosts file as well, so it will know what ads I don't want to see? Which is all of them?
Although, it occurs to me that soldiers without fear might die often.
Actually, odds are pretty good that they'll only die once.
Are you honestly telling me that if I eat all burgers and fries (supersized!) in the world, BUT pass on the sugar water, I'll be thin?
Of course not ... because the hamburger buns and the fries probably have HFCS in them as well.
"Only religious fanatics and totalitarian states equate morality with legality," Torvalds wrote.'"
Right, so when do we abolish the laws against murder, rape, etc.?

It isn't. The Onion recently reported on chilling counter-counterterrorist activity in Washington, D.C.
And /.ers wonder why they can't get girlfriends. :)

That has nothing to do with Microsoft ...
I'm not so sure I agree. Why does a spreadsheet need to be able to run extensive VBA code?

Journalists who know what the hell they're doing put the important information at the top of the story.
These people are rewriting the law book in front of our eyes.
They should add something about ninjas.
