  1. Can always wait a while and then the market will take over, allowing participants to buy at their leisure under their terms - nobody wants a chip with a ridiculous overclock governor right? Moore's law might suddenly apply again as long as making chips is profitable.

That explains why home consumers want the same quality stuff they think professionals are getting.

  3. Intel stamps its brand on everything it produces, theoretically making it more difficult to sell into certain markets. I'm stupid too. I need big brains to explain these things to me like I'm a toddler :)

This must tie into climate change somehow. I can imagine climate change scientists are keen on things like this where smaller, lower-energy chips are produced to increase competition in most chip markets. But we should ask them? They are, after all the big brains. Do you think climate change scientists care about brand stamps?

  5. Raytracing for sure. That's still the hottest area of rendering after all these years, even though its soooo computationally complex.

Wow! Those studies must go back a bit. Running isn't super popular these days - I guess its for Ben-Stiller-esque looking guys with headbands. You must have needed to get docs off a microfiche.

Well, I assume the content would theoretically match the resolution just fine once they are in mainstream release in 2020, but if you want the resolution to match the TV now, you'll have to buy something else. I saw a whole bunch of movie clips on 8K a while ago. Lots of horror movies. They all gave me the creeps in high resolution (as horror movies should, lol) but maybe I will get used to it when it is available down the road.
