Wow... I bow to your superior debating skill. Really, name calling... I could never compete with that. I humbly defer to your superiority and beg your forgiveness.
You Americans can wax poetically about "censorship" when I can see a nipple on the Superbowl without the whole country going "WTF we're all going to die!".
Different cultures have different standards. I don't believe China's way is the best, but I'm not sure. And neither are you.
Do you really think Google has to fight against opression? Why don't you start? Go and break the DMCA ina really visible way, and face the consequences. I mean, we all know it's an unjust law, right? So why are you abiding by it?
Hoy many stock do you own? I'll pay you 400 a share, all you have. You'll take a small hit, sure, but I'm sure it's a small price to pay for your high horse.
This is Slashdot. You just said "I'm some sort of greyish-brown color and randomly sprinkled with pizza sauce, frito crumbs and semen stains". Which, I admit, maybe you are, but I wouldn't go around advertising it.
Mark MacKay, owner of the WOW Gold Price List website, has condemned this practice in a statement which reads: "Over over 1.5 million World of Warcraft players are from China alone, with the majority of these players being non-English. While their has been recent publicity about the gold farm factories in China, it by no means justifies thinking that every Chinese or non-English speaking player is a gold farmer."
Now, Mark MacKay does not sound like a Chinese name, but I'm having trouble believing that he's an English speaker.
Say Apple makes a 100 bucks profit for every iMac sold (extremely simplified, but hey). Then you have support costs and what not.
Now, say Dell licenses OS X. For every Dell sold, Apple gets a nice 50 bucks. They don't need to build, sell or distribute anything. They get an extra 50 bucks for every Dell sold, just for sitting in its butt and looking pretty.
Plus, they'll always sell Macs. Maybe less, but there will always be the Apple fan segment and the "I want the best and damn the price" segment.
I really don't think Apple would lose all that much by licensing the OS. Remember, that's basically MS's business model, and it didn't work half bad for them.
I don't. I have a good job, a beautiful family, and this is the time of the year when I get some free time to be with my little boy. We also eat delicious food, and I get to give my kid lots of nice presents, plus a new PC and assorted gadgets for me. Also, my wife gets amazingly "in the mood" this season, so I get laid almos nightly. All in all, Chrismas is wonderful.
Oh, and I'm an insensitive clod, thank you very much.
Don't worry. So was whoever modded you "insightful" for that, and ignored the parent post that was actually insightful.
I hate software patents, and I'm against a lot of the IP crap.
But I believe in nothing so strongly as I believe I need to put food on the table for my little boy.
Anyway, learn Emacs. It makes it easy to write in multiple scripts, has HTML editing, heavy duty text manipulation tools and a kitchen sink.
:p
Yeah. OK. But vi's sink doesn't leak
Then we labeled this guy sd_diamond as "Microsoft Legal Department", and again, nobody knew the difference...
A giant pacific octopus attacked
Perhaps a name change is in order? I propose "giant badass octopus".
Are we playing "who died the most gruesome death"? Because otherwise, I really don't see your point.
Q: What were the schoolteachers last words?
A: "What does this little lever do?"
Nope. You've like many sequels, you just don't know it because you never played the original.
Remember the original Warcraft? No, you probably remember Warcraft II. Hardly anyone played Warcraft.
Who has player Grand Theft Auto I and II? Or SWAT 1 and 2? Or the very first SimCity?
There are lots of such women in the world. If you can't find them, you're not looking in the right places.
Or they're hiding when you approach.
Wow... I bow to your superior debating skill. Really, name calling... I could never compete with that. I humbly defer to your superiority and beg your forgiveness.
Wanna know what's pathetic? People who don't own Google stock pontificating about what others should do with their stock. Put up or shut up.

No, only part of it. The Irish part of it, in fact.
I'm white as a sheet

Second. First are women.
Yeah, but he's an amateur. You just reinforced his point ;)
From the article:

You keep metioning "goys". Are those like feminist gays (kinda like womyn)? Or is it some new slang I'm not familiar with?
Yeah, but that would require leaving the computer and going out. Not cool.
I checked the picture and read the "article". What we have is:
-Laptop backpaks. Those are really sweet, and they were being given to each and every member of the press (I got one) and no one else.
-PSP. As far as I can tell, they got those at a raffle or something like that, so I don't think it counts.
-1 Gig of memory. That's what, 80 bucks now?
Assorted trinkets, pens and crap. I don't think the lot of it goes for more than a hundred bucks.
And you call that loot? Get a free plasma or PC, then write an article. OK?
I would actually read that. I'm having trouble with the last part.

And most of the "9% Happy" has to do with their computers now working...
