you'll never see 3D rapid prototyping printers become common. The technology would be too disruptive if you can simply begin printing out parts for things in your house.
Can you imagine all the sorts of property holders that would be affected by 3D rapid prototyping and would be getting involved in intellectual property issues if that technology debuted?
or swampy, whichever you prefer but I wouldnt be surprised if we got some legitimate startups out here.
My girlfriend and I moved from LA and now we're seeing new california license plates out here every week as well as recent transplants from colorado and oregon. Theres alot of opportunity out here because it isn't built up yet and realestate prices are cheap.
The thing is you know these people moved here and aren't realestate speculators because they wouldnt move their car cross country, they would just fly out. In addition you know they're recent because the state here has a law where you have to get your new florida plates in 30 days.
1. who goes driving around when theyre unemployed? gas prices are ridiculously expensive
2. if i need a cell phone i can borrow my girlfriends for a little bit but i find ive only needed it once.
3. the chills from the ringing have to do with a boss that didnt accept poor reception as an excuse for not answering a call and would yell at you for not immediately returning the call even if it took awhile for the voicemail indicator icon to show up with sprint.
Tracking people in traffic, tracking individual users for crimes, etc.
I gave up my cell phone awhile back and haven't been happier. If a company gives me a cell phone to use i'll use it but at least it doesnt have MY name on it.
My growing weary of cell phones began when i worked for a company who would pay you an extra amount each month to upgrade you to the higher plan and then proceed to give your personal cell phone number to all the users. (this was a desktop support position)
Suddenly you have users calling you at all times of the day and youre constantly reminding them they cant call you off hours.
Later on the layoffs came but not all of the users realized i was gone. At this point I cancelled my service (i wasn't happy with the signal quality in my area from sprint anyhow) and I haven't been happier. ie. I no longer get those chills everytime i hear the cell phone go off.
Now with everything I hear about tracking individual users I may never own one again. I am quite happy with my landline and unlimited long distance plan. I suppose if i need it for whatever reason i can always get a prepaid cell phone.
the longer you stare at it the longer your mind starts reading things into what you're seeing and the next thing you know you're looking at martian canals.
it's not so bad. Living right by the everglades natl park in south florida i can tell you if you get bit by enough of them your body stops responding by making those little red itchy bumps.
Earlier this year the mosquito season started early and they didnt have the budget to begin spraying so they just let people tough it out until it got enough press to actually have to take action. I was getting bit three times a day just on the way to the car which is about 7 ft from my front door to the car space in front of my condo. After a number of weeks of this my body simply stopped responding. I could get eaten alive by 20-30 mosquitos and maybe 1 or 2 would itch but all the rest would become a very small welt for 20 mins and then disappear entirely except for a slight knot you could feel in the skin that would eventually disappear in a few days.
Apparently for Everglades workers if youre working in a high mosquito prone area (almost every place in the everglades in the summer) they give you an injection made of mosquito saliva in the gut that makes you immune to mosquito bites for 8-9 months.
Your body won't respond at all but the only way to get the shot is to work for the government or fork over 10,000 dollars for a single shot. Apparently the technology was invented for use in vietnam.
But i've probably already given you far more information than you ever possibly could've wanted.
from down here in homestead it was quite a ride as we were in eyewall winds for quite some time and never got to experience the eye itself. see my livejournal for my play by play of the event http://cixel.livejournal.com/
I've had my DVD player menu crash. Simply put the more complex the software gets in things the greater your chances of this occurring. It's inevitable.
and i had to move from southern california to south florida and now im right down the street from turkey point nuclear power plant, one of the safest plants in the united states. people need to realize nuclear is the new 'fire', sure we burned ourselves a few times in the beginning but its the next step and we have to learn to handle it with maturity.
In regards to madcow though I would like to state that my whole family stopped eating beef since the first suspicions regarding the illness in cattle in this country. My grandmother's sister Caberia Hind died at St. John's hospital in Santa Monica, California and was never counted in the official statistics regarding variant-cjd despite that being the diagnosis that came back after they shipped her head to the CDC for analysis. I am not making this up. This occurred in the mid 90s.
They claimed she had acquired it from her europe trips where she traveled frequently. If i recall correctly they CLAIM the only person to die in the united states acquired it overseas and died in florida. To this day we're still seeking an answer as to why she was never counted in the official record.
My family after seeing the horrible death Caberia went through decided they were better off without the risk of eating beef.
their beliefs are already confirmed about allah embracing their movement after hurricane katrina damaged the oil infrastructure in the gulf.
Their faith would be further strengthened by a bird flu epidemic devestating western countries.
Honestly though. Their society is healthier than ours. Our birthrates are dropping like crazy because people here have better things to do than have children. They have a more unified way of thinking which is more powerful than many individuals all pursuing their own interests. See recent american war protests for examples. Our society is also growing ever more calcified in red tape as corporations control it.
My idea was always that the more zealous a civilization is around their religion the more powerful and productive a society will become once it starts to loosen up a bit because it will be incredibly disciplined. Eventually when all the taboos are gone, theres no juice left and it falls apart. Perhaps extremist muslims are simply the new puritans.
South florida in the winter time fills up with birds migrating from all over. What i want to know is are there any migrations of birds from overseas such as africa and such?
Will they bring it here this winter? the migrations have already begun and im seeing alot more birds around. Also chickens are allowed to roam the streets in downtown miami and key west in addition to the farms out here. If the migrating birds pass this onto the free roaming poultry you will have contaminated chicken feces here and there that would be in close proximity to people on a regular basis.
When my girlfriend and I were moving to south florida i had to live in hotel rooms while i was working and had to try coordinating the move with my girlfriend.
Skype saved us thousands of dollars we wouldn't have been able to afford in long distance calls from hotel rooms.
In addition I was able to take pictures of condos and upload the pictures to her to look over and we could collaborate over skype.
I was able to do this from many hotel rooms and even a hostel with my old Thinkpad T21 laptop and a headset and the best part was the sound quality was so good it was like she was in the room there with me.
We could ramble on and on every night after my job hunting and apartment/condo looking and say goodnight to each other.
is a amazing insulator against radiation. Strangely it is also taken up by corals and deposited in their skeletons without harm. There are reasons nuclear fuel is stored in submerged containers at power plants and there are space scientists with designs using a thin layer of water around a crew vehicle compartment to insulate astronauts from solar radiation. Dolphins and whales can deal with radiation just fine, radiation handled much easier by nature than industrial chemicals. See the lush forest around chernobyl for more information.
create live by acting as artificial reefs for coral and other marine life to grow on. for more information see all up and down the coasts of florida or note all the colorful sponges growing all over the arizona in pearl harbor. also life has learned to deal with oil to a degree because afterall oil is a natural chemical and small oil spills occur naturally every now and then. a huge sound blast is about as unnatural as it comes, followed only behind "cleaning" up after the exxon valdez by washing the oil away with scalding water. the areas they scalded took many times longer to recover than the areas they left alone covered in oil.
and currently stationed by iraq. While I say the more defensive weapons the better, if we have to do it at the expense of making all the whales extinct I say its not worth it. This isnt about saving plankton here, this is about not accidently blowing away the eardrums and thus killing thousands of whales and other marine creatures. There have been experiments with this technology and coincidentally there were massive beachings as the marine mammals could no longer navigate correctly. There are billions of us, I can't say the same for the whales.
I originally thought this article had to do with IT worker burnout and the resulting revenge on the company. I was hoping to find tips and techniques. I'm sadly dissappointed.

singing the ballad of bilbo baggins with a bunch of bimbos?

they figure they wont turn it off in time before they strike.
You're AWESOME. I was thinking of the EXACT same thing.
We should PAVE antarctica!
