Is there a module to play streaming audio yet? A user created channel thing would be nice too. If they built a P2P module into it so you could download files and play immediately it would be incredible.
Computers are NOT loud. Not by comparison to the noise level of living in a city. Try fire engines driving by or airplanes flying overhead. THAT'S LOUD.
"Second, are you somehow suggesting that the social welfare of minorities like the Iraqis and muslims is somewhat less valuable than an unemployed person in the US? Which is worth more? Is one okay to be unemployed and the other not? Why? One the surface your statement belies a latent racism/nationalism that is offensive at best and abhorrent at worse."
You're dead on bud, I don't care about some fucktard camel jockey. I want a goddamn job!
How are those atom lasers coming along they keep talking about to be able to print superconductors. Build a REALLY BIG one and perhaps you could print a city on Mars.
Why do I give a shit about people losing power 3,000 miles away? noone died.
Thats all anyone keeps talking about here at work....and didnt this happen like 7 years ago on the west coast? i recall something like this prior....and what does this say to potential terrorists that we can't even keep our system up and how fragile it is?
Thats what are leaders are afraid of. If we don't find giant expensive projects to spend money on and employ people and the resulting trickle-down, its game over for the country.
is having children. I want to have children myself someday. Gay and Lesbian couples are having children. (which may have been nature's built-in method of population control since left to their own devices they can't procreate) Obviously they're not having children at the rate of the poor third world countries but the population IS growing exponentially.
Just look at road rage and the 405 freeway in Los Angeles. How long before we start eating each other like rats in a small cage?
the law of diminishing returns kicks in. The environment WILL be destroyed. Imagine our planet centuries from now resembling that metropolis planet on Star Wars: Phantom Menace. The best we can hope for is recreating whole environments in virtual reality.
The greater the size of our population grows, the less buffer we will have between us and the environment. The greater our numbers climb into the billions and finally trillions, the greater the effects our slightest alteration to the environment will create. One person with a campfire is nothing, 100 million people with campfires and you start to get some serious pollution. One person hiking through the woods is nothing, thousands of people visiting a national forest every year is like throwing a 40,000 person concert there.
Its our numbers, not the action that destroys our environment.
No matter what we do, we will pollute and destroy.
I started typing when I was 8 yrs old, i have no idea how fast i type but everyone around me says its an incredible rate. I type with my own style which can change from time to time as well. I developed a degree of carpel tunnel when working in a cramped cubicle, so bad in fact that i couldnt pull the parking break on my car. occasionally i still get flare ups so i lay most of my arm on the table and set the mouse far back so my wrists arent at a sharp angle. but it can happen to us too man. i used to think those carpel tunnel people were full of shit and trying to milk workers comp until i got it myself.
Yeah I live in manhattan beach over by aviation and manhattan beach blvd. and have a friend in el segundo who was telling me about how there was an oil leak at the plant once and a guy found oil in his backyard and decided he wanted to sell it or something and they had to do a big clean up effort cuz it had seeped. kinda scary.
You're describing Adelphia in Manhattan Beach, CA exactly. All that and my total bill comes out to a little over $81 with cable modem access. I've been praying for Cox or Comcast to take over this area for years but apparently theyre (Cox) pulling out of Palos Verdes now too. Adelphia's service is so awful its ridiculous. ANYTHING especially DirecTV is better than this sh!t.
I remember my grandmother who was always into gardening one time came across a plant she bought at a nursery. When she got it home and looked at the label and said in bold letters "Propagation Prohibited". At first she was puzzled since she had never encountered anything like that before, then she was like WATCH ME!
he has a greater more diverse taste in music than anyone i have ever known and it is the direct result of napster and all its successors. he has essentially abandoned traditional music venues and has bizarre mix cds containing everything from trance, to perry como, to jefferson airplane, to 80s hits to old country western music. he must have music from every decade for the last 100 years in his mixes. this is the ultimate fear of the music industry, the internet amplifies your interests and specializes each person. my brother will likely never enjoy corporate fed music again and this scares them to death.

Unless you feel like opening a vein don't read this article. I am officially depressed.

With such integration of instant messaging services into the taskbar do you really think anyone is going to use anything other than MSN Messenger?
Hussainium?

Kinda like how the Dole company made it a felony to steal pineapples from the fields on Oahu, Hawaii.
we need to create a giant black hole or grey goo nanotech scenario so we destroy every last roach.

this is a legitimate argument!

its all about taking the 90 home instead of sitting on the 405 in traffic.

its all about planet Arco further south on the 405. visions of hell with giant flames.
without air? prepared to breath vacuum?
