Also, I don't hang my hat on being straight - do you really need to point out that you're gay in your xbox profile? I mean... really? I don't think you should be banned for doing it, but I think it's a little odd.
It's no more odd than mentioning hobbies and interests that aren't related to gaming. I mean that's the purpose of profiles isn't it? Talking about the things that distinguish you from everyone else?
This question often comes up on forums like Gamedev.net, and the answer is always the same. Nobody wants to buy game ideas, from you or anyone else. Ideas are a dime a dozen, and there is too much legal difficulty involved in even looking at someones idea. Developers would much rather work on their own ideas (of which they have many) than take on someone else's.
My first reaction to this story was pretty much what everyone else has said, i.e, it'll never happen. Sure, nobody wants to lean forward and raise their arm to touch their screen when the mouse is right there on the desk. Too much effort, etc.
But, what if the screen *is* the desk? Picture a large screen laid almost flat, tilted up a bit, that performs the role of screen, keyboard, and multitouch pointing device? That seems much more plausible, especially when you consider that a well designed multitouch UI could probably alleviate many of the precision problems you would normally get when using your fingertip for pointing.
Of course, you'd still need to deal with the fingerprint issue.
I read somewhere recently that a sprinkler system that emits a very fine mist of water could be a viable solution where equipment is important. Because the mist is so fine there is very little water used, and therefore water damage is insignificant.
"There are 10 types of people in the world: those who can count binary and those who can't"
Speaking of which, has anyone noticed that the number 101 makes several apperances in the two Matrix films so far? I'm not sure what the significance is, if any. Given what we now know I would have thought that 110 would be more appropriate.
Examples:
1) First film, Neo lives in apartment 101.
2) Second film, The restaurant is on the 101st floor.
3) Second film, Link advises Morpheus to escape via freeway 101.
Make it possible to use download accelerators like Gozilla. I have occasionally wanted to download a demo of something, only to find that because of the way the download page is structured, Gozilla can't kick in and take control of the download. When this happens, and if the file is large, I'll just give up rather than take the chance the download will be interrupted.
Has anyone else noticed that when it comes to gun control, the mantra is "Guns don't kill people, people kill people". But when it come to piracy, the computers are getting the blame, not the people who operate them.
Computers don't copy content, people copy content!
... FUCKING OTHER GUYS UP THE ASS UNPROTECTED?
Well, the person in question identified herself as a lesbian, so she probably didn't use that exact wording in her profile.
I could be wrong.

I like this one about space combat: Hammer of Thor, Lightning of Zeus
That was left handed! The commando in C&C. What a guy.
