I thought this was well known. Apparantley it hadnt propigated to the proper people yet, so I will let everyone in.

Websites have always had little secret links and the such. Just about every major website, like yahoo or espn has had these secret links. Generally you can find these little Eggs if you look closely enough. THe most common one is in the bottom right corner, usually its a slightly changed color of the background, in the shape of a capital Pi. Lots of times when you click on that you can be put into the backend of a majority of websites.

  3. Ive been using KDE 3.1 Alpha for some time now on KDE 3.1 Alpha1 is Here · · Score: -1, Troll

because my friend works for KDE, and he leaked me the code. In anycase, while it does do the things that we expect, it has trouble with some of the little things.

I mean, when I click on the menu, I expect the menu to either cascade or appear, but sometimes it just pops up like a tool bar on the top of the computer. That isnt very intuitive and it gets quite annoying. Luckily there are some options you can select to turn off the Auto-Tool settings.

I think the worst thing they did tho was their blatent ripoff of MS XP. THat is sad. I use XP at work, and Alpha is just like it. Including the split start menu and the GREEN start bar. Sure there are options to change its colors, but i mean, come on, I want a Linux machine not a windows clone. I guess its true about LINUX Gui, they are trying to look just like MS.

I am very dissappointed in the anti-aliasing as well. We were led to believe that it would be EDGE only, by their websites claim, but I have seen very little proof of edge only AA. Instead, my desktop at 800x600 looks awful, everything is blury and out of focus, because of the AA. I have to move my desktop to 1280 before things crispen up enough for me to read.

I guess what I am saying if you dont mind relearning how to use the KDE Gui, because the previous versions were very easy to learn, but this new one will take some time to master(even for a Linux master like me) and dont mind ultra tiny text or ultra high resolutions so things do not look like ass, then Alpha is the way to go. Id rather stick to using Gnome or a previous version of KDE.

  4. Ive been in the AM scene for quite a while: on Agile Modeling · · Score: -1

Virtually everyone in the industry knows the Agile Modeling is on the way down.

Not only has my company(fortune 500) felt economic woes due to the terrorist attack, we are one of the few firms left that still use AM.
The current trend is a more advance technique, which utilizes all the benefits of AM without taking on all the setbacks and downfalls which has led to its current design. My actual responsibility is to take our AM staff(about 6 of us) from the old trouble laced AM into the future. It isnt easy.

In anycase, I am dissappointed that people will look at AM as some sort of breakthrough or something even worth discussing. I wish some of the editors would research their headlines, instead of posting book reviews of over-the-hill news.

With Pogmania sweeping the nation, this should be the last thing we discuss.
Pogs are clearly the best invention since frying, so it deserves our utmost attention.
For instance, I would like to discuss the proper Pog stack. Yes, there is a proper Pog stack. It has the competitors place 4 Pogs a peice, 3 lamer Pogs, and one super Pog. The Super Pogs will be the middle 2 Pogs in the stack. The player who places the most valuable pogs goes first. The stack is to be stacked vertically. Then you slam the Pogs with your favorite slammer and collect the Pogs you successfully flipped.

Watch out for Pogfressionals because theyll flip a 20 stack on the first try. Work your way up before you lose your valuable Pogs.
