Perhaps not efficient enough if they need $5 million to keep going?

My God, so they deliberately introduced Cane Toads, Rabbits, and Cats? I don't even know what to say. I have to think that it's not just 20/20 hindsight making this look like a terrible idea. Maybe I'm wrong.

I guess they didn't see 'I Am Legend.' Way, way too much opportunity for disaster here. Anybody here hear of the Australian Cane Toad disaster?

    '6.6bn in wasteful R&D'

Excuse me? Since when has research and development been considered wasteful, and needs to be slashed? I imagine that most companies are surprised MS does any research at all, but R&D is exactly what needs to be kicked up a notch at Microsoft.

  8. Too true on Just Let Me Play! · · Score: -1

I certainly agree. I am a very busy guy, what with a wife, school and work. I want to be able to sit down and pla ywhat I payed for, not spend hours re-playing the same levels to be able to get bonus items and the such. Luckily, I have seen some games that will let you set 'unlockability' to off, and give you all the goods upfront. Stepmania comes to mind.

  10. Slippery Slope on Lucent Sues Microsoft, Wants All 360s Recalled · · Score: -1

What, so will they demand all dvd players, handhelds and any other devices that decode mpeg2 to be pulled as well? This sounds like another case of using the media to one's advantage.
BTW, for more info on the mpeg2 codec and it's history,
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mpeg2
It seems there are a whole lot of companies that hold patents on pieces of the components that make up the mpeg2 technology. What the heck makes Lucent think that they're the only people who matter, here?
Besides the point, I don't see why more of the next gen systems encode all their video in a free format, such as Xvid. If we encoded all our movies in Xvid onto a dual-layer dvd, we could easily get 6 hours of HD goodness. Wake up, manufacturers!
