    Tokyo, Nagoya, Kobe, Osaka, Yokohama...all bombed pretty well flat.

    I'm getting my financials ready and will be ready to go probably in the summer of 2005.

    The Canadian immigration officials might have a different opinion.

    Its a slim chance, but Kerry could still possibly win it if he pressed ahead with a long, drawn out legal battle.

    Not all on the scale of the one we have now, but all significant military actions quite near the election.

    PIII 850 was my main machine until last week. Vid editing, development, CAD, etc, etc.

    My 'dinosaur machines' are a 133 laptop, a P2/400 IPCop firewall, and a P2/400 practice/test box.

    Not everyone upgrades to the latest and greatest every month.

    By interoperability, I meant mixing with the wider world of user machine configurations/combinations. Which is near impossible for any one company to test fully.
    By GUI, I meant GUI usability. Again, can be tested inhouse with a limited number of users, but you need to let it loose with a wide range of regular civilians.
    Funcionality = "Hey, wouldn't it be neat if it did X". "ok...we'll see"

    But again, cookie/security issues such as this should never made it past alpha.

    Account security problems should be worked out long before public beta status. Beta should be reserved for functionality, GUI, and interoperability issues.

    I wonder how many people are using this 'beta'?

    Maybe it's just me, but as an Ohioan I suspect a personal letter from someone in the UK

    You know what offends me about that whole deal? That a foreign citizen/corporation could buy, from the local city/county/state government, a list of US citizens, names, home addresses and party affiliations for a very few dollars.

    Not that I'd have anything to hide, but its nunya dam bidniz!

    Various religious groups, web filtering db's (i.e. WebSense or NetNanny), and the like seize on this. Online traffic and sales plummmet.

    [a few days/weeks later, buried on page 8]
    "XYZ.com was the victim of an extortion ring. However, the child porn connection has not been totally ruled out. FBI and local police are still investigating."

    How much work do you think it would take to their name removed from all those lists and db's?

    I only regret that I never got around to owning a X/19...

    I had one (green '74), and my dad had one( red '75). Rusted like no tomorrow. Crappy electrics (bare wires leading into connectors). Suspension mounts could be stronger(one rusted clean away). Aluminum cyl head had a tendency to warp. Doors froze shut (upstate NY winter).

    I want another one.

    Unenforceable.
    SpouseW has a clean driving record, her car has all the toys. SpouseH has had 4 speeding tickets in 3 years. Whats to keep him from driving his wife's car?

    Or, due to a good driving record, you're allowed to have some video toys. After a couple of tickets/crashes (maybe because of the toys), are you going to be required to take them out?

    Or...a new driver has, by definition, a clean record. Also, they are typically the worst drivers. Toys, or no toys? I guess you could put a 5 year clean record requirement on it. Only after the waiting period do you get to install the toys.

    You do. Cheaper insurance rates. More toys for in the house.

    Yes you can. I've saved about $500 in the last year using this.
    Diagnosed an intermittent misfire, a weird overheating problem, and checked out a potential used car buy.

    There are several other versions around, from $88 to over $500. However, you still need basic troubleshooting skills.

    Why? Someone who only wants to/can only pay $100 for a PC likely doesn't have these around. Someone who does have these around, probably doesn't want a $100 PC.
    A computer is more than the box. Input and output devices are kind of required to actually do anything with it.
