If adware and spyware is not illegal (although nobody here would argue it is ethical), and there is some monitary value for each PC infected, it was only a matter of time that offers like this would become public. Hopefully market competition will force down the value of each infected PC, making these schemes less inviting.
ahahahaha YES, someone has watched Trailer Park Boys. Bubbles is of course the Microphone Assassin:
I got a grey kitty, white one, and a tabby too
And a big orange guy who put snakes in my shoes
Mad MC skills, leave ya struck, and I roll with ma kitties, and I'am hard as f*ck
I am down with Plato and Socrates
And I like to get busy with all the ladies.
Grunt, grunt
sumthin,' sumthin,' sumthin,'
Grunt
Up in ma shed, up in ma shed...
I gotta know....

By using Blog Torrent! Sets up a simple tracker, allows even the most novice to seed files, and bundles the bittorrent client with the torrent file in one single download. They have versions for mac and windows, and allow for the download of just the.torrent file for Linux users.
I work for the Penn State University visualization group and we use Chromium (which supports cave-like deformed viewpoints and stereoscopic rendering over them, as well as low-cost linux clustering and high-end myrinet and infiniband clustering) and OpenSG (A general purpose toolkit for writing scenegraph-based applications). Good luck! Visit our website for information on how we've used it:

This could become a very large legal problem for Word users that rely on this type of protection to (legally) prove that files have not been tampered with (think FDA submissions for pharmacuticals). I see this being a larger problem in the future, when MS Office DRM is used on most files assuming that these files will follow the orderes encoded into their DRM. Imagine a file that is supposed to self-destruct in 10 months as part of a document retention lifecycle. Two years from now, a tape backup of that file is subpoenad and the DRM is hacked so that the file is openable, leaving said company liable for its contents previously thought destroyed. I don't mean to rag on Microsoft or its protection schemes, more on those who use these weak means as a method of security in their infrastructure. A good server-based file protection model will always trump a good in-file-based protection model.
What are troops doing playing Xbox? Isn't there a war that we're trying to win still? Nonetheless a cool technology application, I'd think that they would want videoconferencing/voice chat first, then games.
Yes but I meant market-power. Independant artists are a threat to the star-model of the music industry. Why listen to that brittney CD one more time if you can hear some new tracks on MP3.com that are actually good for free? Eventually the consumers will (and have) question the worth of buying a CD just because its the "in" group.
So, Vivendi, a music industry heavyweight, now owns indie music promoting mp3.com, sells it to a third party and destroys access to hundreds of thousands of independant artists. How does this not seem like a typical power-grab by the music industry??
The DMCA isn't the only four-letter-acronym'ed law that pisses all over our constitution, as the Reducing Americans' Vulnerability to Ecstasy Act (RAVE) act demonstrates. More information here emdef.org

Seriously, all our in-major lecture halls have Laptops w/internet access and AIM installed. I have yet to see a usefull discussion take place with these tools during a lecture
Enter the Matrix was a rush job by a studio that never should have gotten the contract. Shiny's biggest accomplishments (Earth Worm Jim, MDK) are no where near the great games put out by the first two studios contracted by the Matrix producers (SquareSoft et al). Also, Tomb Raider was an abomination to let out the door. The controls are terrible, and the game is buggy. A beautiful looking game however.
Even with that said, these games are in the minority. Alot of good bug-free games came out this year
'The company also expanded its product warranties for licensing customers from 90 days to a year and expanded the minimum notice given to customers regarding software audits from 15 days to 30 days.'
All I'm saying is we critisize microsoft on their draconian licensing, and when they change it for the better, they get criticized as well.
Is that the smell of my Karma burning? Possibly because I'm about to say that this is great news from Redmond? Any movement in the right direction should be rewarded folks:)
The Kaoss pad 2 has some synth elements built in, and you can compose short electro jams with it. Also, the sampling time is up as well. IMHO its the best added feature to my DJ setup

Technically, you can find this new phone within 30 miles. It can be lost within an infinite radius of your home ;)
Who's the microphone assassin!?!?
Well, the code is all available as an open source project, is spyware and adware free, and whoops I'm feeding the trolls.

"I think," he said, "we need to get off this planet, because I'm afraid we're going to destroy it."
Don't bitch if the problem was cause by your end. How many devices can you begin a flash and then have your computer crash and still use the device?

Declares SCO invalid! OOH!
Yes, it appears as if one of the scene releases was the all new C64 assembly webserver, with gyrating psudeo-3D tendrils
The article says that they only rejected funding for FCC programs that allow consolidation of this type... a slight difference
