Nice. Java is a good concept. Slow, mind you, but good, since what runs on Windows (written in Java) will run on Linux will run on Mac OS X. It makes the OS world a better place.
This is obvious (To me, anyways). Most people who blog are geeks. When gainfully enmployed, most geeks are coding, admining, etc. This takes up quite a bit of time, so there is no time to waste on blogs. But, when unemployed, there's plenty of time. And, since blogging is a geeky thing, unemployed-silicon-valley-ers are naturally drawn to it.
I'm a Sophmore, and I've known about the scientific method since seventh grade; he should know about it by at least 8th grade.
In reality this is just some idiot hoping to look smart via the awesome power of the web. In this case, TAPOTW(tm) has been put into the hands of one who needs to wear a helmet when he goes outside in case he falls down, becuase he's yet to develope the dexterity to walk properly.
CodeTek's Virtual Desktop is free to use with two desktops. I loved it so much I bought it for $20, which is really a bargin, considering free upgrades & whatnot.
I use a mac. And I love technology, Linux, and the rest; the only reason I use a Mac is for Unix, and once Linux is user friendly, I'll go back.
And you just have to plug the fucking two button mouse into the usb port -- is that so hard for the rest of the non-mac (Specifically Linux-Tech-Commies) world to understand?!
Now that I've got my cheerleading out, check out the update on the appeal, which contains Tom Reilly's comments on it. Basically, it explains why they're pursuing a harsher punishment.
I never said MS would give price cuts to kids; only to businesses. The fact that they would give price cuts to big companies shows dunce (The big companies need them, as they have a monopoly -- any good company really does need at least a few Win licenses). You completely missed the point.
And hows does someone skeap a 1 instead of a ! ? Or Leenucks?
Don't talk down to me; I know that companies play these sort of games, but it is dumb for MS to indulge them. So get down off of your high horse, you Windows lover.
Here's the problem (Or thought, not really a problem, but it does contradict science as a whole) I've had with the Copenhagen interpretation of Quantum Theory: if each observer gets caught in the wave function, then something has to be observing the universe from outside the universe...
Does this mean science has inadvertantly said "Yes, there is a god"? It's been driving me nuts since I discovered Quantum Theory...
This is perfect: Now, a company who really wants MS software can just say "No thanks, Lindows is better" to MS reps, and gain a significant price reduction even if they had no real intrest in Linux in the first place.
What is MS thinking? Really does show you how dumb MS is...
I vote we take action,/. style: Slashdot their servers into oblivion!
Hah, now that I've got that out of my system, let me get serious: this is the dumbest idea/company I've ever heard of (Next to MS). Honestly, so many people use pop-up blockers these days (And people seem to have problems accessing the site without pop-up blockers) that they'll be losing so much revenue/potential customers (If it's a site that sells things) that it's worthless. In fact, they're blocking anyone who uses Earthlink, as their major feature is ad blocking (I don't use Earthlink, but I've seen the commercials). And, if all else fails, we'll just disable javascript to view their site. Mind you, most people will just turn away when they see the "Go away until you don't block pop-ups" dialog.
I also love their image/download link/HTML source savers. This is the internet; there's always ways to get things. If the image can't be downloaded, I'll take a screen cap. One of my friends who didn't know about screen caps took a digital picture of her computer screen and blew up the image to use it on her project. There are always ways.
I also love how they try to install the Adware/SpyWare Gator onto your computer.
Lemme see, my upgrades go as follows (Hey, I've not been alive all that long, so my first computer -was- a 286): 286, 386, 486, 400mhz Celeron/old 486 Laptop, 1.5ghz Vaio, 600mhz G3 (iBook). It seems I've actually gone down in processor speeds, by 900mhz in fact! I'd say I'm the opposite of what AMD/Intel want. Oh well, I don't want them, either.
Wow. MS has, once again, ripped off Apple. Anyone hear of the dock? Well, it's basically and XML app launcher for your commonly used programs. Just like the sidebar. And I love the new "Plex" theme; it's all blue. What does this sound like? Hint: it rhymes with sockwa.
Don't say any thing about morality. I'm a...uhm, kind of Catholic, and I was trapped in Catholic school for a while.
Don't talk about morality in this. In Genisis, does it not say "And God created man in his own image" or something to that effect? Well, God made life, God made us in his image, so we can make life. End of story.
Ok folks, move along, nothing to see here.

You said: ..... however the one massive weekness that i saw was that (when i read it) it did not support overlapping windows, while this doesn't matter on a screen of 320x480 it seems essential on a display of 1280x1024, try and work that out!
Actually, it does support overlapping windows. See this screenshot for proof.
I personally found the first movie to be pretty bad. I really had a hard time standing the thing, whereas I actually liked the Chamber of Secrets (Movie 2). The acting in the first one seemed forced, but it seems to have improved greatly this time. Plus, basilisks are just plain old cool.
The site claims it will run on Mac OS X; has anoyone tried it? Did you need any hacks to get it running? I'm currently downloading on my slow connecxtion, so I have time to wonder. =p
If it does run, I'm going to hop aboard with the project, and start submitting OS X-based code.
Until then, I'll be anxiously awaiting the download of the picogui source.
With any luck it ends when Windows is nearly monopoly free! And good!
Nice. Java is a good concept. Slow, mind you, but good, since what runs on Windows (written in Java) will run on Linux will run on Mac OS X. It makes the OS world a better place.
The site is here.
Bah, stupid "Editor". The actualy site is here.
I hope that made sense. =p

I use an iBook (Well,m duh, look at my sig), and I know Intels are just plain faster. And as soon as Linux is up to snuff, I'm off of this Mac train.

When can MS come up with their own ideas?

Ahh! I;ve got to stop myself before I say something else nice about a Microsoft product! Windows is actually usef--*Blam*
Actually, it does support overlapping windows. See this screenshot for proof.
Just my opinion, nothing more.

Now, I'm off to get some of those ant cups for my iBook; do you think plastic will do well on top of my processor?
