They want to track HOMELESS people, and yet they can't even track the kids in the foster system; every so often (read: multiple times a year), an original parent tries to see their kids, and the system has "lost" their child (they lose the records, forget where the kid was fostered, the kid may as well be gone).
Appletalk does not like to, uh, talk with Windows/Linux boxes. Yes, you can install Samba, but it takes effort; whereas, Windows will talk to a Windows network flawlessly.
I just set up a network (My Mac with my family's two PCs), and I decided to forgo all that and just install DAVE; easy Windows networking. However, other people probably just want it outa the box.
Nope, the average Windows 2000/XP box crashes probably about once every 2-6 weeks; at least, that's been my experience. Windows is NO LONGER the crash-fest it was in the 98 days.
It's actually quite stable now-a-days; I just happen to prefer Mac OS X.
At this point, it's no longer preference of stability; now it's preference based on, well, preference.
Linux isn't that complex; it's just annoying. Lots of tweaking, lots of installing package after package in order to satisfy dependencies...it gets annoying after a while.
So I went over to the mac side; I suggest you check it out, as well, next time you want a new computer.
No, your music won't just vanish. You just can't reauthenticate (in case of reinstall), or buy more. BUT, that's only if you've got a non-US credit card.
They can do an IP lookup, but they don't. Apple has provided a little loophole which buymusic.com et all have not.:)
The horror! Quick! Ban people from spreading the word!
I'll believe it when I see it.
This happens a lot, actually; criminals do it all the time...
You sir, have experienced a kernel panic.
I'd love to be wrong. =p
Same goes with Printer sharing. And yes, I've used OS X. All day. Every day. It's on my primary machine.

Lots, and lots of tinfoil.
(In that regard, of course; GNU seems to say it sucks, otherwise... =p)
No, because -ALL- of Darwin is open sourced; hence, it's compliant with GNU specifications.
And they did mention how it keeps telling jokes whenever it senses a transmitter it's already seen...
Of course, it also mentioned bugs, and Mickey being forgetful (on a somewhat-regular basis, it seems).
"This is the Epcot Center! It has..blah blah blah..."
Walk away, go check something out back where you came from...
"This is the Epcot Center! It has..blah blah blah..."
Go to head up the stairs, across the room...
"This is the Epcot Center! It has..blah blah blah..."
Go to walk out...
"This is the Epcot Center! It has..blah blah blah..."
*Mickey goes for a ride...*
The problem is, getting used to it. It's set up for the advanced user (read: keystrokes for EVERYTHING!), not for the newbie-point-and-clicker.
It's kinda like Slack, but in the 3D app land.
No, see, I'M Squidgee.
Squidgee porn?

AND, any musics on your iPod is very much safe.
He was reauthing with a NON-US credit card.
His own failt for being a dumbass; and, of course, if he got his hands on a US credit card, he'd be fine.
Yea, the deletiong thing seems to be /. FUD. *shrug*
They don't delete your songs. This guy LOST his songs in a reinstall, and was trying to buy em back.
He lost all of his music in a re-install; THEN he tried to readownload. They weren't just automagically deleted.
RTFA.
I'll have pictures up shortly.
I sense a countersuit!
I honestly have no clue what the RIAA subpoenas contain; but, usually, subpoenas are orders to appear before a court. Which one it is, I don't know.
