It's too bad mostly schools/governments too poor to afford Windows crap are the only one's switching to Linux. I wish more schools would do it so they could spend more money on kids and higher teacher's salaries instead of helping Gates pay for his fricking 10000 sq/ft house. I'm sick of my tax dollars being squandered on these fat cat bastards.
I disagree. I think if you're a government purchaser, and you purchase closed source software, you could be a terrorist. I think the easiest way to hack into government computers would be to write a closed source program with spyware and sell it to the government. Therefore, all governemnts should ban closed source software.
How can M$ have armies enginineers working an entire month on security and not fix a serious known bug? How is it freaking "trustworthy computing" when you know about a bug for six months and not fix it! I think this proves that the month long security blitz was just a load of marketing crap.
That would be the smart thing to do, but most companies don't think like that. If a company could make more money by using soap than other free technologies, most would choose soap. Look at all the companies using windows mostly because they don't want to spend money retrain M$ office users (maybe these people should take a look at crossover office or hire people who know OpenOffice) . In addition to resisting these technologies, free alternatives need to be created.
I agree with you about using xml-rpc for application you have control over. But if you wanted to connect to google with web services, right now you need to use SOAP. Hopefully companies will consider these issues when publishing web services. Also, anyone who trusts M$ to have RAND licensing fees is on crack.
First that terrible Titanic song, then those evil animal torturing bastards at Procter & Gamble sponsoring her tour, now this. I definately won't be going to see Titanic II.
