Try Aardwolf. www.aardwolfmud.org Lots of choices for race/class and endless tiers. Not geared towards RPG so much as others, but still possible. Also, PK within the clan system appeals to many!

Many MUDs are built by the players themselves, or former players who have been elevated to the ranks of "creators" or "immortals". These people work simply for the love of the game, the writing, the coding or all of the above. Speaking as a former creator myself on a very popular LPC MUD, I loved the chance to work with the NPC characters and stretch my writing skills, even though I have difficulty coding my way out of a wet paper bag. My character is still active, although I don't get to play nearly as much now as I'd like. Real life keeps intruding!

How noble of you. If you are so confident that you are on the side of the angels, then why don't you really take a stand and sue eBay or Yahoo or MSN? The answer is because you're NOT so certain that your company would come out on top in a court battle, and you know these small companies can't afford to fight you, and will pay your "fee" because it's cheaper than hiring a lawyer. THAT is what is so despicable about your company's actions, and you for not only participating in them, but actively defending them.

Yes, I know we shouldn't feed the trolls, but sometimes you just gotta.

Nevermind they kicked in some gun dealer's door at 2AM and gave his wife a heart-attack, all because the software couldn't tell those large gun purchases were just inventory for his store - as opposed to "suspected terrorist activity".

Or an excessive amount of overseas calls? Like many members of the geek community I've made friends all over the world and often make or receive calls from Oz, the UK, or NZ, although not from the Middle East. But to have my front door kicked open at 2 a.m. just because someone called me to ask how to get into Coojibooboo's tomb outside of Klatch again would be mildly annoying, to say the least.
