Basically what they are saying is this: "the education is free but the credit is not". Learn all you want but your still going to have to pay. Personally this will work well for me if i can do this when i grauate high school but i know plenty of other people that will never do anything but the bare minimum in a class. Most people in my classes in high school dont try to learn the subject material, they just learn the test answers.

Well thats the pope i guess. Latin is set in palce and although people may change it there actually is an official latin. Well not just one but there at least is a standard. Personally one of my favorite quotes is this "Quidquid latine dictum sit, altum viditur". Look it up its worth your time ;)

Well i am in high school and im glad i read this. I am personally not one who wants nothign but earth shattering base so i guess ill look elsware for my DIY sub project. Since i have been looking around for a set of new speakers when i saw the article my heart skipped a beat. Beleive me wheni say i was dissapointed to see nothing about building your own subwoofer at all. There are plenty of classmates of mine who show me their "new car sub" which either sits int he trunk or under the back seat and sounds like muffled cars crashing. Well this is too bad because i am willing to spend t he time to do it right. Are there any better links you know of to teach me?

English is STILL not a dead languadge. If you want an unchanging languadge go learn latin. Sorry but everything changes and there is no "official" english. When Webster "standardized" english with his dictionary he really just put out his own opinion on what is standard. If you want a quick example of how "english" has changed try http://www.m-w.com/about/look.htm.

Ok every time i post about Mandrake someone rips into my sig. It is there on purpose. I know that the actual command is "umount" but what the command does is "unmount". It sounds better if your not "umounting a women". Jesus everyone needs to calm down and realize that console skills arent required BECAUSE of distros such as mandrake. Personally i am very good at using a console and it helps me a lot but whenever i install mandrake on a windows convert's computer i dont even install a console interface. It just needlessly confuses them and if they later feel like they want to explore the OS more i simply tell them the very short command to install it off the cd's.

God stop it and stop it right now. I agree with your point that our freedoms are being taken away which is sad but i dont agree with some of your blind accusations. There is no "right wing christain conspiracy" going on here. Sorry to say but the people we are fihting against are very often very liberal hollywood producers and corporate leaders. We MUST NOT make this into a battle of "us" vs. "them", thats a gross oversimplification and will serve nothing other than their purpose. We must embrace all others who have a chance to be on our side without alienating anyone. If you make this into a war then very quickly our enemies will raise their defenses and we will LOSE. When this is a battle it will become its own reason to take our rights away. We must be very careful not to be viewed as radical if we expect other people to side with us we are going to havbe to change our plan from one where we attack our enemies to another where we convert them.

  8. Re:The Economics Of Warez on Talk To a Convicted Warez Guy · · Score: 1

Another thing to add to your argument is this: a lot of warez channels actually spread the software without the companies doing it themselves. Companies are getting free exposure (although it may or may not be worth what they lost). I know people who have registered software that was once cracked but now that they are making money with it they can pay for it and do. Anyone who uses a program like dreamweaver or photoshop for their job (even if its at home) will tell you its worth it to pay and get the support becuase without it they lost more money than the cost. So the question is this: is the amount of money people spend registering software they were exposed to by warez greater than the mystical "lost revenue" the companies bitch about or do they actually lose money? I guess thats the 10 million dollar question but if it could be answered both sides arguments would go away.
