I get the same thing after playing Tetris too long, or working on jigsaw puzzles.. plain text wants to fit together like puzzle pieces or Tetroids. Again, spend too much time looking for ways to best fit those pieces together, and you start seeing them EVERYWHERE!

3. Skynet can't nuke EVERYTHING, so has to have ground troops to clean up the mess.
4. When I dream about the end of the world, I don't dream about a 2 (or 3?) star general whining about all the computer systems being offline and taken over. I think (read: hope) the whole movie takes place right AT the time that Skynet goes online. I forget the exact date mentioned in T2, but I think it takes place on that day... last ditch effort to stop Skynet, and maybe it fails and the world really does become a glowing ball of rock. (:
It looks like the WHOLE movie takes place right at the dawn of the machines... when Skynet grows a brain, and launches nukes at all the major population centers... And the chick terminator just goes back that far (and not to the 1990s or whatever) to make sure Conner doesn't survive to send the first terminators back to save himself... twice. And stuff.
I dunno about all fives, but I use 888-88-8888 as a fake SSN. It's coded into some (maybe more than some) systems as "this person doesn't have an SSN". I dunno why all 8's, and not all 9's or 1's or something. *shrug*

I first read his stuff with the Star Trek books.. I was hooked with Imzadi... Rock and a Hard Place, Q-in-Law, Q-Squared, I Q.. all great books. I also love his New Frontier series... He's also got the King Arthur in Yew York series (Knight Life) and Sir Apropos of Nothing series (self titled and "Woad to Wuin") which are just full of bad puns, fantasy cliches.. all kinds of fun stuff. I don't think I've read a Peter David book I haven't liked. (:

book version is being written by Peter David, who has written TONS of stuff about the Hulk, including comics, other books, and even the Hulk's wedding. I'm looking forward to it... and I can imagine the Hulk as a big hulking green giant, and not the cute cuddly cartoon version of the movie... and it'll probably be closer to the comic, too.
It was done in a 5th or 6th season Episode of TNG called "Second Chances". Riker was duplicated a long time ago, and one of him was left on the surface of a planet for like 8 years, and just happened to meet his "twin" when the Enterprise went to the planet to get some research stuff that was thought to be abandoned.
