I think Tivo should position themselves with the cable and sat companies. i.e. sell the boxes as add ons through the cable vendors (maybe even allowing the vendors to bill for Tivo, like RIM does fro BlackBerry devices).
Ultimatly, the cable and sat companies are good at distribution, they have always been bad on the subscriber equipment side.
Here in Canada all of the cable and sat companies have very poor excuses for PVRs. I remember from the days of grey market US sats here that the Tivo kicked butt!
I've been trying to get one up here in Canada forever!
Yes, but what knowledge can be used for good, can also be used for evil. I think it's important to do this, but it would be wise to do it slowly and with a lot of thought behind the legislation.
These things all look really cool to me, I have been eyeing up Dlink's new media player, but I'm worried about it's reliance on windows. Sure soudns good though...

Unless you own the apartment, put your money elsewhere!! Put together some specs if you like and then let the people involved pay for thier part of the infrastructure! Seriously man, that's good start on a downpayment for a condo or house.
IMHO..
Actually xDSL is newer technology than fiber. The reason most telcos use DLS is because itâ(TM)s VERY expensive to lay fiber (especially if you've already got infrastructure in place, i.e. copper).
I would like telcos to step up and start offering consumer grade DSL with synchronous transfers and faster speeds, how about 5Mbps, or 3Mbps even!! We can talk faster after that!
If your employer can prove that you banded together to do this and did not follow proper labor procedures you could be opening your self for legal action.
As a previous poster mentioned, know your rights, then you may consider work slow downs as more effective (also keeps the bucks coming in the pay the bills).
However, you have to be careful with work slow downs too. Depending on your employers past history on dealing with labor conflicts they may see this as an open invitation for disciplinary action.
Best thing, talk to your government's labor board.
I suspect it's likely the game genera that is causing this, rather than the main character.
I don't know, maybe this is a sexist comment, but I suspect the whole shoot'em up/action style games don't interest women as much. IMHO I find women are much more social than men.
Of course this could be because I can get my fiancée off "The Sims" long enough to check my email.

I was kinda looking forward to get away from all the electron guns pointing at me!!!
What about drive time to the library? They don't seem to take that into account, it takes me more than a few seconds to drive to my local library.

PS: unions are not the answer.
