    When I take credit card info over the phone I could do just the same.

    The only slight difference is that it's worth more over there.

    So I find it odd that this is considered different.

    Well if you could redirect effort as easily as that it would be dramatic

    There are a few essential tools that led to the GNU/Linux/OSS revolution; make, gcc etc. Over due to do it again!

    If easily retrofitted to a common car, or offered as an option these low speed, high economy then it's ready to go,

    since there are times when we get stuck in slow moving traffic and you can't turn off your engine because some git in front will take the gap (and coasting downhill is illegal...).

    Yes there's the hybrid car but I'm not going to buy something like that until it's cheaper. If I could get something to power me round at 30mph at cheaper rates I really would consider it.

    It's a very foolish business decision.

    The website is the best free advert anyone could hope for.

    Personally I would have subverted the site or changed the letter to say `include adverts or decist`.

    Then again, they got publicity by doing this. If they were to back down now they could have the best of both worlds.

    I relised it's just as easy to:

    1) collect all the files in one folder (symlinking?)
    using a gui filemanager
    2) make an iso of that folder
    3) and burn that iso

    Script steps 2 and 3 and it's pretty fast.

    The only annoyance is the inability of a filemanager to tell the size of the dir without refreshing after every move. I should script this with `du`

    also consider optic nerve, and eye interface. It could be only USB1 and that could be presenting a problem - I suggest firewire iuntil manufacterors stop changing sensors without telling us.

    I bought a sweex webcam like the one in the guide.

    Indeed the usb chipset is supported (sn9c103), but the sensor isn't. So I'm sending it off to Italy for Luca the developer, well it's no use to me.

    USB webcams can have different sensors within the exact same model, so you never really know when buying one whether it will work for sure.

    Hopefully this will change if the USB video standard (similar to firewire video standard), comes about.

    In the mean-time think about firewire cameras.
