    I think that CNN story was overly reliant on the oh-so-clever title 'Weapons of Math Destruction'. Har-har, effing hilarious.

    Everything in the "news" today is all about the headline and the fleeting image / impression that the "news consumer" retains about the subject matter, which is all to often politically-agendized.

    FWIW, eating Kelp / Dulce is a thing on the east coast of North America, probably elsewhere, too.

    All the enviro-"concerned" groups do this. And the media uncritically eats it up, elevates non-issues and amps up the alarmism. Looming disaster is a "compelling story" and as such is absolutely irresistible to feckless media.

    100% of scientists worried about CAGW are government-funded. No crisis = no jobs, so, not surprisingly, there's a crisis. All the time. To be "fixed" with taxpayer money. And taxpayer money is the best kind of money.

  22. There was no reliable instrumentation prior to 1900. All data about past temperatures is proxy data that has been statistically "massaged". End of story. You can stop worrying now.
