I've always thought that was the difference between wisdom and intelligence. It is possible to be very intelligent and yet be unwise or immoral. Sociopaths are often extremely intelligent.
Well since you are familiar with this stuff maybe you can inform us a little. Are these things really vulnerable to hacking? I mean over a network of course, anything can be hacked if you have physical access.
I don't get why these critical assets are hooked to the internet. Surely that isn't possibly true? You'd think any sane system would have them on their own network sealed off from any possible outside connection. Why do they need internet access? To browse facebook? Porn?
Environment is more important than IQ. There are plenty of highly intelligent criminals. If you educate people with high IQ and no moral convictions you end up with a very dangerous criminal.
You completely mistook my response. I replied to the racism in the comment. People are a product of their environment. Some are more observant and adept and rise above their culture to become good people but most do not. The problem is not their race however. To judge anyone by anything other than their actions is unacceptable. The fact they grew up in terrible circumstances is not an excuse for their behavior but a reason. If you expect to solve the problem you have to attack the disease and not the symptoms. Tragically most who come from these kinds of places are irrecoverable. Some learn to change but most never will.
But is it because they're black or because they're mostly poor, uneducated and hopeless? Blacks from stable middle class homes seem to do about as well as their white counterparts. Is it any surprise that some black kid from the ghetto with no father and an addicted uncaring mother turns to a life of crime?
If you think about what you just said you are basically saying the government can't have secrets. Classified material is protected by law. Releasing it to the public is a criminal act and the people making this movie are basically accomplices along with Snowden. The people have the right to elect representatives to run the legislative branch and participate in selecting the electoral college that elects the President. They don't have the right to micro-manage the government and decide what is classified and what is not.
I'm sure it was. It's still interesting that they knew that far in advance and traveled that far. It shows how they detect incoming weather and adjust their behavior to it.
I remember a story about a guy photographing animals in an area where a Tsunami hit back in 2004. He said he was taking pictures when suddenly all the animals, I think he said they were some kind of antelope, suddenly looked toward the ocean then the entire herd ran away. He was greatly puzzled until a while later when he was hanging onto the top of a tree for his very life. I know if I'm somewhere and suddenly all the animals start hauling ass I'm going to follow them.
I know how people are and yes I'm pretty sure most are just jealous. I know how many people I've seen that while pious and self-righteous while in positions where they had little power or impact later attained promotions and became tyrants and micro-managing assholes. Most bitching is nothing more than envy. Maybe you are pure of heart but if so you are in the minority.
One of the few things worse than greed is jealousy and there's lots of that around here. The man was smart and successful. The fact that he made a lot of money writing textbooks is what it is. The market is bogus and we all know it but writers gotta write. I can't believe the textbook scam is still going on full steam. I remember back in the 70's paying over 50 dollars for a biology textbook that I never used. All the tests were from the lectures in that class. I did get half the money back when I sold it after the class ended to a guy taking it the next quarter. I'm sure he didn't use it either because he had the same professor.
Japanese companies are important to the US economy, Sony is a household name here and we have a very strong alliance with Japan. If you think the FBI will fail to do all they can to step on whoever perpetrated the Sony hack you're sadly mistaken.
There was no negotiation. The Spanish publishers had a law passed to force Google to pay. That's not negotiation that is regulation. Google had two choices under that situation, either pay up or leave. They chose to leave. Now the publishers are pissed because they didn't want that to happen. They wanted Google to pay them and now they realize that they hurt themselves when they had the law passed. Cry me a river.
The Publishers have elected leaders in their pockets. They pulled out their pet politicians and put them to work earning their keep by passing their master's legislation. I find it quaint that you seem to think politicians work for the people who elect them. What a novel idea.
I made no attempt to discredit any moderates whatsoever? Where exactly did you read that in the above response? My comment was entirely directed at the extremists and how much fun they are to bait. I can't see why you'd complain unless you are one of the foam at the mouth sort yourself.

Haven't you heard? We've always been at war with East Asia.
Do you avoid blacks wearing a suit and tie carrying a business briefcase and getting out of a Lexus?

And you didn't even really read the comment. If you did then your reading comprehension is abysmal.

It only seems weird at the time. After the fact it's obvious what was up.
I think the surprise was how far in advance they detected it. We always knew animals are more in touch with the world.

I just realize that 90 percent of the people bitching would gladly trade places with the self-serving elite.

When they lie every time they open their mouth it gets to be a habit. After a while it's just standard operating procedure.
That's right, put your faith in the North Korean government. Idiot.

Yeah, I've actually tried that. If Google ceased to exist I'd have to go back to Yahoo.
What in hell does Willy Wonka have to do with this?
