They'd sold thousands of them. In a market counted by the millions that's very significant. Apple does that kind of crap. Take new technology that no one quite knows what to do with it, package it attractively, market it and sell the hell out of it. So yes, Apple did not invent the smartphone, just the idea that eveyone needed one.

I actually understand that licensing problems drove Debian to remove the cdrtools package. Sadly though, despite your objections to cdrtools it's amazing that it works while wodim fails miserably. Is there some reason we can't have a package to burn optical disks in the Debian repos? I'm actually able to compile this shit from source so I can have a functioning system but the vast majority of users of Ubuntu and other distros think it's impossible to burn disks on Linux without piles of coasters. Just sayin'.

I'm not even going to mention that buggy, smelly pile of shit called wodim that made burning optical media on linux go from easy to massive frustration. One silver lining though, I've learned to compile from source.

Well if they tried to fight the Israelis in a stand up fight they'd get eliminated in a few seconds. By using civilians as shields it lets them last a bit longer before getting wiped out with the added bonus that Western Media gets a lot of really good shots of the dead innocents. I'd say that means Israel left them only bad choices. I'm not sure if they're capable of choosing to just quit fucking with the Israelis. When you are brought up on hatred it's all you know. I see no solution to this shit, it's been going on my whole life and not getting any better. Well, Egypt did manage to extricate themselves from it but the shitheads killed Sadat for it.
