I refuse to pay out the ass for 3G data that is about the same speed as a dial-up modem in actual practice and is choked even harder once you actually use it for anything other than checking e-mail and browsing a few youtube vidz. All for more than my 20mbps always on and never throttled connection at my house. I just can't bend over and take it like that.
You're right that it hasn't been overtaken but it has lost a lot of ground. It will most likely lose more as people like myself will not be installing it for family and friends anymore. The last few installs I have done are linux mint.
I moved to Mepis after throwing it the towel on Unity. It's based on Debian and it's my favorite KDE distro. Ubuntu used to be my favorite in the Gnome camp but that's gone now.
Truth. I always look in the mirrors and then turn my head to watch as I back. This is the way it was taught to me and how I taught my children as well. I taught them to walk around the car and look it over before they got in as well. Hardly anyone does that either.
There is allready a rearview mirror installed in every car and people don't fucking look in those or pay any attention to sideview mirrors. The problem is the drivers not the equipment. If the morons back up without looking in the damn mirror then why do they think the dimwits will look at a screen. Now IF they transmitted the video wirelessly to their smartphone then maybe they might notice the guy walking behind the car. I doubt it though.
In curiosity about your link to snopes there, why do you find it hard to believe? I don't like Romney's politics but he seems like a decent guy. Not pure as the driven snow mind you but decent.

Portrayal of children as sexual objects is wrong. I'm not going to argue the point since you'll rationalize it to make it seem fine and then I'll rebut it and it's pointless to go round and round with you over it. If you see no problem with child pornography you're not rational to start with. Certain principles are absoulute to have any kind of civil society and protection of children from predators is one that is paramount. If you disagree then we are so far apart there is no basis for discussion.

On the other hand I watch all the droid and iphone users where I work drearily waiting while the supposed verizon and at&t broadband achieves slightly better than dialup speeds.
There are trade offs wherever you live. People living out in the back end of Utah get to avoid the plague of crime and pollution of the populated areas and they miss out on facebook.
