For someone who is capable of such incredible reasoning you would think he would turn out much different than a southern white trash redneck.
I'm not totally informed on all of the details but when I hear him say "dirty jew" and other nasty things about the Israelis I just wanna slap him and say "WTF happened to you?!?!"

When talking to a woman they can generally fake it and pretend to be smart, but then when they talk to each other it degenerates into talk about fashion, shoes, who's the bigger slut etc..
I have an aunt who works in the FBI. An FBI investigation into me, big or small makes things difficult for her, as well as for myself.
It came down to a simple decisions. 30 seconds helping the moron, or 30 days or longer explaining to the feds over and over and over and over again what happened.
I'd rather just get it over with and move on. He knew he was an idiot after that.
My ex boss was on the phone with the FBI telling them I hacked the network and took down the webserver (nationwide ISP with ONE webserver).
One of the othe employees called me and told me (good friend) and advised that I call him. So I did, and within 30 seconds the server was up and all was dandy. I didn't get a thankyou, just a "If you do it again I'm going through with the FBI complaint".
The dumb ass he replaced me with switched out the BSD kernel for the GENERIC one which couldn't handle the apache requests without running out of file handles. Of course it's all my fault.
So consider yourself lucky she called for help. It could have been much worse.
just imagine what her car is like. i bet she cleans her house once every 6 months or so, but honestly, would a person like that EVER clean their car? not likely
I've seen outrageous shit in peoples cars. Used condoms, doggy bag dinners from weeks earlier forgotten in the back seat, roachs (the ones you smoke and the ones you dont).
These are the same people that shit on the floor at gas station restrooms. Natural selection hasn't quite caught up with them yet.
you obviously don't live in southern CA

The ants outside my house measure in inches, they're red and they bite like a mother fucker. Did I mention they number in the trillions? On a hot day in september you can't see the ground.
Hippies in the 60's and 70's often recal tripping quite hard on the "moving ground" that happened to take their picnic away with them.
Mybe you like an ant farm. Sure they are cool to look at when they are a little 12x12 inch plastic picture frame type farm. However it's a very different thing when your entire 10 acres of land are swarmed by the fuckers who eat your horses alive.
" The first time I opened one of those puppies up and got savaged by those viscious little buggers I was surprised to say the least, considering they have no teeth, or claws, or any aggresive instincts whatsoever."
Playing ignorant with law enforcment and the legal eagles is a dangerous path to take. I wouldn't advise anyone on it. They have much more time to screw with you than you do with them, and they play hardball. Not to mention they have the final word.
A break in is unauthorized access. Period. It isn't even decided by the admin. What the admin wants is irrelevant, it's what the corporate executives want. If the execs don't want something open to the public, then someone publicly access it, the admin gets fired/sued and the person who broke in goes to jail. It's a very simple concept many of todays prima donna admins don't grasp.
Mom and Pop shops will be hurt by this. Notice this targets small busniess who probably run free software to reduce costs. Large companies can handle this, even find ways around it.
I agree with it to an extent. I have a feeling breakins are far more common than any of us truely know. Only by making this public will the problem get better. Constantly pushing it under the rug is how MS has gotten away with security problems for so long.
On the upside this law will help the IT industry since it'll create more IT jobs for network/security auiditing etc.
I hate to see goverment medle in business matters, however the tech industry doesn't seem capable/willing enough to handle the security issues alone. I know most people are sick of it, and when people get sick of it, they start passing laws. The tech industry really has no one to blame but itself.
Go to disk utility and repair disk permissions. I notice everytime I run this the man pages permissions are screwed from various application installs. I dunno if that's the prob you are having but it's worth a try.
My system seems a tad faster but i'm sure that has more to do with the prebinding the update did than anything else. I also always make sure to repair the disk permissions after I install something major, you can do that in the disk utility.
My system doesn't boot faster or anything. Overall it's probably about the same. It is afterall just a point release.
The original dual processor power macs wont wake from sleep, and if they do they kernel panic immediately. It's been an issue for two years with no solution. MacOS 9 even does it on the systems so I'm guessing it's hardware related and not software which is why there is no "patch".
I do use SCSI for servers etc, thats just common sense. But consider ATA is still slower than SCSI was 5 years ago, or heck even 7 years ago. That's just pathetic. SCSI is just to expensive to be sensible for the average Joe.
The storage capacity we have now is adaquate for at least another few years. I don't know anyone that uses more than 60 gigs, and they are few and far between.
What we need is faster drives. I'm personally sick of how slow ATA drives are. Every other aspect of computers has made leaps and bounds in speed, with this one exception. Why? A fast hard drive makes all the difference in system speed.
How did that dude get so fucked up.

They run it all over Akamais network, like their quicktime site.

sudo diskutil enableJournal / &
enter the terminal.app and type:
diskutil
You'll get a list of diskutil options, two of them are "enableJounal" and "disableJournal".
Happy hunting

does this need to be done after each reboot or does it stay permanent?

but 7,200 RPM's just doesn't do it for me, not since I had a 10,000 RPM SCSI drive 5 YEARS AGO!
