    Interviews make me nervous.
of course, I've only had 2 jobs in the field, both internships, so my view might be skewed.

Thinking fast when something breask is totally a different ballgame than thinking fast when having people staring at you laying judgement on you.

I never felt comfortable thinking that someone is going to base their entire view of me on a simple 2 hour interview.

of course, I've never been turned down for a job, either.

I hate replying to my own messages, but seeing as how someone modded me overrated, perhaps I should make myself more clear.

the Issue at hand was that sex.com was being unfairly treated due to it's name. However, if it was a large company(ford.com, walmart.com, disney.com, msnbc.com) you would bet that verisign would be held liable, and that these silly domain disputes would be taken seriously. I could easily see disney successfully suing verisign for breach of contract or negligence. I mean, look at molson, who almost successfully STOLE someone's domain BECAUSE they were a big business.

My point was that had it been someone with some political weight to throw around, they would have gotten it.

From my point of view, here's what verisign *could* be charged with
    • negligence
    • breach of contract
    • aiding and abetting
    • Stupidity

there? NOW someone want to argue?

bullshit- absolute and utter bullshit. I for the longest time, was an ATI supporter. They have by far, the most kickass integrated tv-tuner cards I've seen.
I supported them when everyone else laughed at me. I supported them- until I bought neverwinter nights last weekend. They have NO DRIVER SUPPORT. they're response to 'your card won't work and continues to crash' was 'suck our balls. if you want to play, you have to use the 2-versions-past drivers.' Don't believe me? look up the all-in-wonder-radeon drivers on their site and look at the known issues section. That isn't acceptable to me.
I bought a geforce4 mx440 yesterday, and it works great. First non-ati card I've bought. I hear that each time nvidia releases new detonator drivers, it improves ALL of their cards, including the older ones. so yeah, I felt the need to rant on that.

I think that the senator from peru(or wherever) made a good point when he said opensource SHOULD be mandated for gov't use to protect the government from attacks or espionage. we've all heard the rumors that microsoft has put in back door so the cia or nsa or whoever could get in, now imagine if you're a country who doesn't get along with the US(now or in the future)... all your gov't software has been backdoored and easily accessable by your enemy. with OSS, it can be reviewed(chances are that it won't be, but I like the option dammit).

That's why it should be mandated. if a CSS software company(MS) wants to join the fray, they can include a wimpy OSS clone of their program.
And you're correct, it wouldn't be fair to microsoft. BUT, at that point, they would be putting out an inferior product. Screw NDAs and CSS. I write html a frickin day, and I'd gladly share my asp or php with anyone how would like a copy(minus the hackable stuff:)

I get the feeling that if microsoft wasn't a US company, they'd all feel differently. What if it was located in Iraq? Russia?(get the old cold war feeling going). Let's take china for example. Theoretically, if China was planning on attacking the US(viva la socialism), or something else along those lines, China would make sure it got rid of any 'threats' to my security... which they might would percieve as windows. if you were in their shoes, wouldn't you?
