I'd rather donate the cycles to something other than entertainment. But, if I had to choose entertainment, I'd donate to the needy (read: not Pixar or Dreamworks).
If you were shooting a landscape, and wanted to ensure your foreground was in focus, as well as the mountains off in the distance, you'd tilt the top of the focal plane forward a bit, for instance.
The article says that the mountain tops as well as blades of grass in front of the mountain are all in sharp focus.
I'm a Mac user, so I can't readily download this and install it, but I am interested in seeing what it (and the new features) looks like. Anyone have a link? Google wasn't useful.
It's not really an advertizement if you're seeking it out, is it?
You're using the loathed "advertizement" word to get out of the fact that Apple is spending money to quickly get content that you want to you. And you're whining about it because you don't like jumping through their hoops.
Most cartoons are written for adults. Because they're written by adults. Pixar is no different. Their movies certainly are written for adults but are also a format and presentation that translates well to children.
I'm the poster you were responding to. I never said Doom 3 for the Mac was a lock because it was first demoed at Macworld. I do think it makes it likely that it will. Especially since it will be available for Linux.
Perhaps the Civic isn't as great as the EPA rated. I don't know, I'm not interested in one. However, Randy Rathbun's blog had a mileage log that contradicts this story at least as far as the Prius (the only hybrid I'm interested in at this point) is concerned. I trust his empirical evidence more than a poorly researched article that paints all hybrids with the Civic-brush.
Well, Halo is a unique example. Bungie was a Mac developer primarily before Microsoft bought them. That's why Halo was (as you said) seen first at Macworld.
Actually, the first time I installed Mac OS X, I used XFS as the filesystem. It was slow, though, so I reinstalled selecting HFS+ as the filesystem instead.

The difference between the Cell and Sony's previous custom chips is that this one is based on PowerPC architecture.
Where are some photos or videos of this? There weren't any links in the article. Someone had to have captured it.
Whenever you decide to spend $1200 on the storage.

Make it so!
Xserves and WebObjects.
They're providing massive amounts of bandwidth at no cost to the end user. Quit whining.
Are you asking for a Final Fantasy sequel?
I'd say Pixar's movies are geared to a more mature audience that those horrible lines of dialog are.

They should test both then, to prove the case.
Why are they using iTunes 4.2 as the encoder? Apple made improvements to their AAC encoder in the 4.5 release a few weeks ago.

How much less than $20,810 was your Golf TDI?
My Jetta VR6 usually gets between 31 and 33 MPG on the highway.
Look for Mitsubishi's next Eclipse. It's supposed to use hybrid technology to boost acceleration and fuel economy.
Yes.
