Keep in mind that MADD inflates the numbers with a nutty classification scheme. Sober driver, drunk passenger? That's an alcohol related accident. Drunk pedestrian walks in front of sober driver? Alcohol related accident. Driver with one drink gets into their parked car, gets sideswiped by a sober driver? Alcohol related accident.

Just a guess, but what you are seeing on the charts is likely not a result of girls seeking dumber boys, but because of girls seeking older boys. It just looks that way on the chart because the chart shows a single age.

I've seen studies that show girls often act dumb when in the presence of the boys they like, for some reason. I suspect it could be that the small amount of dumbing down leads to a perceived equality in intelligence. So that an IQ of 100 will dumb down just enough to appear to be the same as her suitor.

Indeed, I agree with most everything you said. The side plot just isn't nearly as entertaining as the MST3K setup. It's like methadone for MiSTies. I imagine they will grow into it however. If they continue to make the commentaries, they are bound to come up with extra characters, and I think more importantly running gags and a history. I think some of the best riffs from MST3K were usually references to previous episodes and movies.

In the past, if you were bullied, it was often by someone bigger than you (if you were a boy) or someone more popular than you (if you were a girl). "Cyberbullying" on the Internet can allow the victim to fight back if he or she is intelligent, creative and malicious enough...

An interesting side note to this is that in this case (student to student aggression), the cyber bully still retains the meatspace advantages. Either by the ability to beat up the victim the next day, or to continue to assert popularity advantages over the kid. I'd wager that a witty post would still most likely get made fun of by the crowd simply because of its author, not the content.

I'd always heard it was the Celeron line. I think that early on, chips that didnt meet specs where just outfitted with less cache, and marketed as "econo-chip", i.e. the Celery. Then an actual market for those economy chips came about, and to meet demand they had to start putting good chips out as Celerons as well. So rumor had it if you were lucky, you could try to overclock your Celeron since it was probably a snazzier chip in reality. They of course fixed this in a matter of months by creating a dedicated run of actual Celeron spec'd chips.

    1. Racism. Marijuana/Opium were the intoxicants of the poorest of the poor in the early 20th century. This included Americans of African, Asian, and Mexican descent. The use of these plants became to be seen as a low class, non WASP activity. As such, it was frowned upon.
