Key word: Warehouse. We aren't talking about an unmanned Antartic research station where custom hardware would be bought anyway. This is probably a lit warehouse with lights running off the AC mains. These computers would not be solar powered.

Man, I just heard about this incredible peice of equipment on New Scientist. It's called a "Heater." It has a coil and a fan and stuff. Not quite sure how it works, but I think for the amount of times a nearly always on computer will boot, it might be worth living dangerously and trying one out, in conjunction with one of those newfangled "Thermostat" things.

Yeah, it was what was called a joke. I didn't read the article, but unless HD-DVDs are going to be slower than DVDs for the forseeable future, then the only way games would be slower to load would be if games had more content. So, by extension, I said that CDs would be EVEN BETTER.

Does that make it clear for you?

I don't think microsoft is doing everything they can to make games load faster. Sure, DVDs mean less data is loaded than HD-DVD, but then wouldn't it be better to put the games on CDs instead? And who needs more than 600 MB?

So I think it is only limited by the speed of the equipment, not the process.

Have two sections, one for gamers and one for people who just want to surf the internet.
Have a few consoles and screens linked together for tournaments, when it would be hard for the players to gather the necessary cables and screens to one house.
Get the newest and most anticipated games right away. Sell them for a small loss (depending on regulations, but I was thinking of console games) when fewer people are interested.
Sell food and pop. Maybe set up the equipment so that food can be eaten at the computers.
The people going are probably going for the social setting, not the games. Put speakers on stands towards the player so that he can talk to others and hear, rather than using headphones, but still can be heard over the noise.
Have regular tournaments for prizes (such as 100 free hours or such) as publicity.

What if you are searching for information on pornograpy, and don't want to see smut? Your proposal would seperate searchers into perverted and non-perverted, rather than prudeish and non-prudeish. Of course corprate donations are much bigger, and tax dollars support some political activities (or do they? I might be wrong). Almost like rich musicians pretending to "keep it real," these appeals for aid would make parties seem more homely.

Also, who knows, maybe the video was put up by Gore to increase publicity... but I highly doubt it.
