    what about the bf2 engine? It has a ranking system (although it's for vanilla maps, not mods), it has a commander, squads etc... I'd really like to see if the GC guys migrated to the BF2 engine... Besides, isn't there already a BF like starwars game out (Battleground or something)?

    Actually, I would categorise them in Linux. The thing is that custom/classic cars CAN have A/C and alike, it's just a bit more work. However, with the newer Linuxes (lunices?) like Ubuntu, you can have bells and whistles for less work.

    Here's my take on that 'analogy':

    Linux/Unix is like a classic muscle car, loud, crude with raw power, often customized, sometimes not too pretty, but kicks ass; the essence of what a car should be. However, not everyone likes it because there's no A/C or power windows or GPS navigation or some other crap.

    Windows is like a SUV, bloated, gaz guziliing, thinks its safe and secure but is a danger to the public. Most people don't need it but everyone wants one.

    Mac OS (before Intel chips) is like nice luxury car. Looks good, well made, just works, lotsa bling bling, but damn too pricey. For 'professionals' with money to spend.

    All keyboard controlled, ultimate precision, one pixel at a time. It ran on IBM XTs: boot MS-DOS 3 on one floppy, load keycad on another. HDD, pffft, floppy disk all the way! .... ah, those where the days....

    I know it's not the ads because the cookies' domain matches the result links. I don't think is Javascript either.

    I don't know if it's related, but I've noticed a couple of times that when I get the search result page, I get asked to set a cookie from one of the sites in the results, without clicking on them. (my Firefox is configured to ask me to set cookies.). This is somewhat disturbing, I mean if my FF was set to accept cookies automatically, I would have cookies for sites I have never visited...

    Did anyone else notice this?

    Close, just switch component and composite.

    composite is a single cable (usually yellow colored to identify it)
    component is several cables (usually red, green and blue colored cables to identify them)

    and yes, slashdot seems obsessed with Xbox...

    I think it's PROGRAMMABLE Interrupt Controller (PIC). Maybe you're thinking of PCI: Peripheral Component Interconnect
