Ive been struggling a while to get my 9700 pro to work under Mandrake 9.1 All I can get is the Vesa driver to work. I found another post talking about how to get it working. So I think I might try that when I get home from work tonight. If I cant get that, Ill try this. So thanks for the Info.
Whenever someone uses that word to me i turn around and stop listening to them, it really makes me question there inteligence both in the IT field and in general inteligence.
Perhaps we should turn around and stop listining now....
Gotta love this Feature of the game!
1.17 Will there be an Alarm Clock?
To help people monitor their play time, there will be an in-game alarm clock that you easily can set with a personal message. For example, you might set it for 2 hours with the message "Don't forget to walk the dog."
Just change the msg to "Don't forget to Kill Jar Jar again!"

No No... You've got it all wrong! Thats only half of the people who visit/. Just make sure they dont make a MMPORPG for Star Trek... If they do that.. Then all is DOOMED!
Well, If it was MY x-box... I would think I could do anything to it I wanted to... Like mod it so I can play Divx movies on it if I wanted to or anything else... Because I bought the damn thing. I payed money for it that I earned. I am not renting it from Microsoft at all. However I do agree that they should not have uncapped their cable modems There was no need for the FBI to be involved.. Local police would have made it clear, and The guns being drawn. That was way over acceptable. These aren't your every day serial killers. They were stealing bandwidth. As far as downloading MP3s.. I really dont see what is wrong with that. Its advertisment for the artists. Granted the majority of people who download the MP3s probably never go out and buy the actual CD. However I do. If I like it I buy it. Now if only everyone else could do the same. But again back on the X-box thing. I do not see what is wrong with people modding them to play games they bought from japan or so on. Or what ever else the do with it. Same thing with the PS2 and PS one. What is so wrong with that? They bought the thing.
Well, If you think about it like this, You already have a computer, You Don't have a CD-Changer... Which one is the cheaper of the 2 again?
Just asking
I agree with this. There are already copyright laws in place. I will follow these. I have no problem with this. My problem however is with the DMCA and DRM and even EULA, These tell me what I can and can not do with software I have purchased. If i want to reverse engineer some software to find out how it works I feel I have the right to. I dont want someone telling me I am only "renting" software. If I pay 15.99 for a cd or more, I want to beable to do what I want with it. I dont want someone telling me That I cant rip the cd to mp3's and put them on my computer or my mp3 player, If I want to play them and 500 others on to cds, to play on my radio in my car that reads mp3 encoded cds I should be able to. If they get thier way we not not beable to do this. If I own something I want to beable to use it how I see fit. I dont think I should be told that I cant do this. Which is exactly what is happening.
I have a few questions about this article perhaps someone can share some insight.
1.The bill, proposed by Congressman Howard Berman, D-Calif., would protect copyright holders from liability if they place destructive decoy digital files into peer-to-peer networks to penalize users.
Mullen said his hack-back idea is different because it is designed to improve the security of cyberspace and would not harm any computer systems.
Now, First off, putting destructive material on any computer is harming it. Am I mistaken here? I mean lets say I decided to put out a bogus.mp3 file on one of these peer-to-peer networks that is not really a mp3 file, but a program that removes lets say (insert favorite media player here) and deletes all of your mpeg files, divx files and mp3 files. Is that detructive or not?
2.To counter this, Mullen has come up with a way for machines that have been attacked--but not infected--to trace the worm back to the attacking machine and prevent it from spreading the worm to other computers.
Using his technique, the computer that launches an attack is paralyzed and requires an administrator to restart it, but it stays online and is not otherwise harmed, said Mullen, who is a columnist for SecurityFocus.com.
Ok so if the computer that was doing that attacking is now being attacked.. Doesn't that count as a DoS attack? Furthermore, He says it stays online but needs to be restarted... If it stays online, why does it need to be restarted?
3.Jennifer Stisa Grannick, litigation director at the Center for Internet and Society at Stanford Law School, said she felt Mullen's idea may be protected under a self-defense provision.
"This is a type of defense of property," she said. "There is a lot of sympathy for that (kind of action) from law enforcement and vendors because we do have such a big problem with viruses."
Ok so now lets say this happens... (Names have been changed of person(s) to protect thier identities.) Bob, is out driving his car and stops at a red light. Frank pulls up next to bob in his car at the same red light. Frank gets out of his car and smashes Bob's window... Does that give Bob the right to smash Frank's window, or slash his tires or pour sugar in his gas tank? I don't think so, Last time I checked I could be sued for doing so...
It seems to me that this is kind of like this situation. Burglar breaks into house, He gets bit by a nice big dog that is "protecting" his territory. The owners of the house and dog, are now being sued because the thief was attacked by the dog. The dog in return, because the thief won his case, is now being put down. How fair is this?
I think what shepd meant was something like this, I could be wrong though. But its how I interpeted it.
Normal everyday citizens (me, and you) who are not officers of the law, in the military or any other federal deptartment like the FBI and so on... Should not go into a bank that is being robbed to try to stop the criminals, because doing so is causing more harm than help. It is not only putting them in danger but the other people as well. Where as an officer is trained for situations like this. ALSO they have "protection" (no not condoms) like bullet proof vests and so on. These officers are not trigger happy people.. (well atleast most of them anyways.)
Ok well that is my.02 cents..

"Why not make a mouse that cannot double-click and make everything a single click."
I don't know about the rest of you, but my mouse doesn't "double-click". I do the double-clicking myself.
