the usair flight that had to take a plunge in the hudson river was taken dowm by birds. Ok, they got ingested in both engines making them unoperable, but i would not say single 40 kg drone would not be somethink to take lightly when colliding head on with a passenger aircraft.
Heh, I had forgotten about those full size cards, but you're right, they were easy to store and swap. When the new cards where you popped the small sim from the large card started to appear, I thought the small sims are soo easy to get lost. And now/they/ are the large ones. I haven't even seen a microsim irl yet. I feel old.
Heh, I too read the title the wrong way around. First thinking of DIY projets gone wrong, and right after that, "Wait a minute, there hasn't been game ports on pc's since late 90's or something... What is the article about again..?"
Tfa didnt say how much data was transferred during that period (or was that 2 megs pulled totally from the hat). Not having ever used an iPhone I suppose there is some sort of a counter you can reset to see how much data is transferred. Is the all apps off supposed to stop all activity or is there still some background programs accessing the data network occasionally?
And at least you used to be able to order a pizza on a phone you just borrowed from someone on the street, for "an important call". Then give the phone back to the owner, walk to the pizza place, grab your pizza and the phone owner pays it in the phone bill.
I am not sure if that is still possible, though...
I have a symbian phone (3rd ep1) and opera mini 4.2 & 5 and opera mobile 10 installed. Both minis load pages fast. Mobile even with turbo and mobile view cannot compete with the minis.
Could someone explain when this ballot actually comes up? is it only for new installs of Windows or at some later moment, too? I already use Opera so it wouldnt make any difference to me but at least during the odd times I had to use IE for something it didn't ask me anything.
Uhh.. Unless this patent was specific to twisted pair (no, didn't read tfa, I must not be new here) going back to coax won't save you. (which is sad, I really loved those missing terminators somewhere in the network.)
Yes, the files probably still exist on user's and authors' computers, however the loss of information on forums is big. Over 10 years of discussion and ideas are gone, many writers are gone already. Searchable forum full of valuable info. I hope they get the data back.
I heard for every driver that got killed in a car accident, 1 out of 5 was drunk. So I better drink before getting behind the steering wheel, if sober drivers are more likely to get killed!
Re: software
I have Huawei e220 and the windows drivers indeed suck. After I upgraded the firmware and connection software, the stability got a little better. With laptop it especially gets on my nerves to have the connection back up after resuming from hibernate/standby.
Surprisingly (or not?), in linux it works well with wvdial.
Being a long time opera user, one thing I miss in ff is a true mdi interface. I found a setting to force all windows to open in new tab but that means I cannot have small popup windows inside the main ff window (still only one program in taskbar).
When I got to the end of this, I had almost forgotten what TFA was about.
But I can certainly see where your nick comes from!
Who is General Failure and why is he reading my hard drive?
Or:

I know this joke! "I very nearly wept." ...then you realised she was deaf! Bada-bum, thank you I'll be here all week.
Yes, the mass may have accumulated to the central area of my body but I still find your choice of word offending. You insensitive clod.

After this I am sure it is safe to say that the year 2012 will be the year of Minix on the desktop!
heh, this looks like a copy from the manuscript of the "Hitler finds out it /still/ isn't the year of Linux desktop" Downfall parody!

Got it, thanks Chris!
A big thank you to anyone who has invites left, I am tomi and the domain is asiaa dot org.

Could it be possible to reproduce copies of the original ascii art printouts by playing back the video using mplayer and aalib video out?

In related news, I know technical shortcomings in hosting an article on hardwarebug.org...

However, only eSafe tells the file is infected with Win32.Rootkit, other seem to be clear. Has anyone else checked their file?
...and a more in-depth analysis: f**k yes.
