Doesn't that mean it is equivalent to x wavelengths of cesium 133 radiation, since that is how the second is defined? I guess Superman didn't like them having all that Krypton around.
Microsoft released a version of flight simulator on 9th november 2001 in europe, with a double page poster saying it was coming out "09.11.01". At the time I thought, umm are they serious with that ad???
IIRC the pound (or most versions of it anyway) is defined in terms of the kilogram these days, rather than the average weight of a grain of barley. Otherwise they would have problems if the US genetically modified barley to include jellyfish genes or whatever the seed companies reckon you should be forced to eat (and unless you grow your own food, you are eating it).
And the metre is defined properly these days (as is the second) in terms of wavelengths of radiation.
But then your chancellor for many years (Kohl) was funded by the French government (Mitterand) while he (Mitterand) wasn't busy organising terrorist attacks on New Zealand (Rainbow Warrior) or keeping his mistress at taxpayers' expense.
However I do think Kohl's endorsement of a German cookbook was a good idea (mmm, calories!)
Surely the movies are not sold, they are licensed. And that is what the content providers want to propogate through other industries (e.g. software) - if people rent software/videos/music instead of buying it they might have a better revenue stream.
Yes you do have to pay to go to the toilet in the cinema in Brussels. And they are split into groups of only two cubicles which anyone who has a knowledge of queuing theory will tell you is a bad idea from the users point of view (I got shouted at (in multiple languages) for taking too long).
BTW the Odeon Leicester Square (in London) has loos right off the side of the front of the cinema, so it is easy to dash out and not miss anything (beginning of act 3, the slow smoochy scene).
In other words, don't use cash straight from a cash machine for buying your dodgy stuff with. But they had serial numbers on them anyway so you knew that already.
A map feature - like Tingle's GBA map in Zelda, that shows (when you are in a crowded club) the location of all the slappers or people of negotiable affect as flashing dots on the map.
Cross referencing mobile phone triangulation with personals adverts in seedy magazines I guess. We have the technology.
However I still think that some people interpret the various laws more or less broadly than others.
I was told that some people interpret the ban on cheeseburgers (animal cooked in mothers milk) to even extend to roquefort (a sheep cannot be the mother of a calf surely?) but my knowledge is patchy and second-hand since I did not study this stuff. And yes the person who told me that was a blind gay communist jewish ex-rentboy social worker with HIV, so he might have a different view of social affairs than say Arial Sharon:-)
The graphics hardware is different; the original VCS could not have displayed the title screen/instructions
since they include a lot of text.
It wasn't the Atari one I worked on. But I'm glad you've heard of it!
The IDE has all the mod-cons (step-backwards, profiling, tool-tips on variables in source code etc.) since its nice and easy to get PCs to do that with slow machines (I'm sorry, I haven't downloaded your SDK yet). It's a pain going to other hardware emulators (e.g. GBA) and not having that!
which is more then the sum total of laws (commandments) GOD gave us (10).
I think an orthodox jew would tell you that God gave out considerably more than 10 laws in the old testament. For example don't shave, or wear poly-cotton clothing. But few people observe the commandment to keep Saturday holy, so I'm not convinced people would follow even 10 rules.
My last game was written on a machine with 640 bytes of work RAM (none of this luxury "K" malarkey). Although admittedly the CPU is a bit faster (3,375kHz). And yup, I'm grateful for it.
Because walking is illegal in the USA... someone I knew went to Los Angeles and was arrested for walking ("jaywalking"):-) I guess somewhere along the line someone decided that cars have right of way over humans (I think this only applies on motorways in the UK - they have signposts on the entrances).
Well ok, it was probably because he got lippy to the cop...
Then why do straight porn movies have such ugly men in them? Straight couples tell me they're enough to put the bloke off while watching, let alone the sheila.
Also overloading is essential for useful templates (another thing Java lacks), in particular operator=, operator==, operator, operator[]

Operator precedence is not the same between debug and release compiler mode.
Are you sure you are not getting precedance confused with order of evaluation between sequence points?
C++ has fairly flexible rules in that regard, the much discussed (on comp.lang.c++) undefined behavior and implementation-dependant behaviour. For example i=i++; invokes undefined behaviour that may vary between compiler settings. My instinct would be that that is more likely to be the problem than compiler error in most cases. You should post the problem code to see if that is the case.
Taz I like. But how dare they make the kiwi yellow! They're as bad as Taito (with The New Zealand Story). Everyone knows Kiwis are brown, have a huge beak, don't fly, are nocturnal and lay huge eggs for their size. They do not look like yellow chicks!

# is called "U+0023 Number Sign"
â(TM) is called "U+266F Music Sharp Sign"
A pound of silver used to be worth a £, but there has been some inflation since then.

Obviously just picked their name to be FCUK. And their name seems to be on everything these days (t-shirts, perfumes, etc.)
== commutative, man exploits man :-)
Absolutely, Captain Peacock.

So it seems the best idea is to get rid of cars and put lots of bicycles on the road :-)

It is explicitly illegal (since the home secretary Michael Howard) to draw images that look like child porn.
