    Spam hurts society. P2P copyright infringement doesn't hurt society(arguably). I, and many others care about the health of society more than about the selfish $$$ driven interests of spammers and copyright holding corporations.

    With all their previous initiatives with MS that they are now a firmly entrenched MS shop now. Are there even other bios manufacturers anymore? And if so, which major MB manufacturers don't use pheonix bios so I can speak with my wallet?

    Play dumb with .doc files when people send them to you. Just message back to them "did you just send me a virus, whats this strange *.doc file?" and play dumb to all thier explanations, whilst telling them about the "normal" text file format that "everybody" uses, and insert your favorite format as normal.

    MS is a monopoly, they control the "windows platform" which is on over 90% of computers worldwide, they are the computing equival;ent of the old monopoly phone companies. Now if 90% of vehicles on the road where hondas, then the stereo manufacturers would have a case, but as it is they don't have inordinate control over the automotive market.

    What about people sufficiently advanced to be able to think multiple "commentaries" at once, would the nervous signal sent to the speech organs be a jumble to this tech?

    I convert the plain text files to ztxt and put them on my palm pilot, and read them using weasel reader. I would HATE if they changed thier standard file format, but if they, or someone else wants to have an additional format available, go ahead.

    But it could also put a stop to this stupid asynchronus speeds crap. I wish I could run a personal webserver off my dsl connection, but it chokes the upload channel which screws up downloading as well. I have 2.5mb/s down and only 0.75mb/s up.

    Thankfully in the linux world this is rare. We get our UI variety by changing the system wide gtk or qt theme.

    Yes, mandrake 9.2 didn't have the most stable konqueror, but with mandrake 10 it should be much more stable as a result of using kde3.2 .
    ...with exception of my Palm Pilot cradle.
    Did you try kpilot that's built into kde? It's always worked for me(USB palm cradle for m125 palm).

    That's exactly how many american cities appear to canadians. They are dirty rundown slums with people living in crapshacks. In canada people don't live in crumbling, plastic wrapped houses, and our buildings and streets aren't covered with inches of grime.

    Not only does wmv take more cycles to encode, but to decode as well. I have a media box with pretty low spec hardware and wmv is the only media that it can't play smoothly.

    But do you still use windows primarily, and linux only secondarily? It's totally different how much you learn when using full time, as compared to dabling, and you certainly used your windows systems full time(no useable alternative back then).

    Judging by the comment about the cameleon dinosaurs in the gp, it is the second novel, "the lost world" that they have confused as being the third nonexistant novel. It did seem like they took a bunch of leftover content from the second novel that wasn't in the second movie, and used it as a base for the third movie.

    I could see this system being abused severely. I would not except this unless it only inludes patients who have sued more than once, thus eliminated the vast majority of legitimate patients from being unfairly targeted. Overall this will only help the insurance companies, they won't lower thier rates even if the lawsuits slow to a trickle, they've never lowered rates before without being forced.

    I'd like to see some proof of that statement. In my experience it's most likely that the majority of cases are legitimate, and the doctors are blaming the patients for thing whom they should be blaming the insurance racket.
